What you just read was the product of 3 years, countless of sleepless nights, a bunch of delusional arguments with Grammarly, the fake scenarios I come up with at night, the surface of the mind of a literal teenager, and the idea of a kid who randomly woke up one day and went, "What if I wrote a fanfiction about Beomgyu?"

I do not know how I was even able to finish this book. Because this book dates back all the way to 2019 when TXT was barely even a month old.😭

And catch this? What you have now, which is the grumpy x sunshine, childhood friends to enemies to lovers, was absolutely not the original trope of the original version of this book (it wasn't even the one on my locked account, no, the original version was way worse than that). If I had not rewritten the whole thing, you would have had to read the bully x victim trope with the saddest grammar you've ever seen, the slowest plot, the biggest plotholes, and the most unlikable characters ever.

Because unlike now where Jiyoung is this morally grey, sometimes sarcastic, academically smart girl, she was originally one of the meanest and dumbest bitches you'll ever meet and I'm so glad none of you had to encounter that version of Lee Jiyoung.

Also, halfway through this book while writing Soobin and Yeonha's arc, I was thinking of not making them endgame and just breaking their friendship, but then I noticed a depressing lack of platonic couples in fanfics and books in general so I thought to myself, why don't I make them end up with each other platonically?😹

So if you're sad because you thought they didn't end up together, don't worry, because they did. They are endgame. Platonic love is just as important, special, and precious as romantic love.

All that aside, this story was definitely a journey even for me. I grew a lot as a writer with this book and with you guys. And I have to say, your senses of humor really are something just by reading your comments..💀

And speaking of comments, I've seen some people say that I should write 'spin-offs' for the other characters in this book but I've got something to say...😭😭😭

It has always been in my plan since the very beginning of this fic (Yes, even the original original one.) to write stories about the other characters after I finish 'Collide', my mistake was not realizing that it was actually going to take me 3 whole years to finish this book. The other books I have in store are written in completely different universes and completely different situations.

So, will I write a new book? Most likely. Except that one will surely have faster updates than this one lol.

But anyway, one of the themes of 'Collide' was 'first love'. And in a way, this book and so is everyone who read through the entire thing, is my first love, because fun fact, this is the first-ever book I've started and finished.

I lost my motivation so many times but seeing the support and attention this book has gotten, always made me come back, I know that people are waiting and I don't wanna pull a Jiyoung and make everyone wait for 8 years so I always make myself sit in front of my laptop and just write.

Thank you for being with me on this journey, for being with me through day and night, thank you from the deepest depths of my heart, I truly am thankful to everyone who read this, whether they're silent or vocal, a lover or... not really a lover lmfao, thank you, soooooo much. Words are not enough.

Thanks for being my first love.

See you in the next one...?
