It was a hot summer day in July, and it was perfect weather for a day at the creek. Josephine packed all the essentials: sunscreen, water, towel, snacks, and her sunglasses. She slathered herself in her peach-mango scented sunscreen, and then she slipped a yellow sundress over her green and white striped bikini.

Mabel had always tried to steal that particular swimsuit, mainly because she thought it looked better on her.

"We look almost identical." Josephine would say, rolling her eyes at her sister. Mabel could be frustrating sometimes, but she still loved her.

Josephine grabbed her satchel and threw on her sandals before running out the door.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?" Josephine's mother called, forcing Josephine to turn around and look at her mother, standing in the hall, arms crossed over her chest,

"I'm going swimming." She said, "At the creek." Her mother raised an eyebrow,

"Alone?" Josephine slowly shook her head and looked down before saying,

"With Camilo." Marta Irene's eyes widened,

"Why don't you take Mabs with you? You know how much she loves that boy." Josephine cringed, hoping her sister wasn't around, listening to their conversation,

"Mama, no, I don't want her to come. And it's not like that, Camilo and I are hanging out together, as friends. You remember how we used to be? We're trying to start that again." Josephine insisted, and Marta sighed,

"Fine, but you get to explain to Mabel why you were gone all afternoon. I'm not dealing with Moody Mabs again." Josephine nodded quickly,

"Yes, of course, Mama, I'll talk to her." Josephine really didn't have any intention of telling her sister that she was hanging out with the boy she was in love with. Mabel didn't have to know.

Josephine hurried out the door and ran all the way to the creek, to her and Camilo's favorite hang out spot. She moved back the trees and found the open little area, that had the rope swing Camilo's father put up a few years ago still hanging from a tall tree.

Josephine spotted Camilo, still in his clothes, leaning against a tree. He looked like he was sleeping. Josephine smiled to herself and seized the opportunity to scare the boy.

She crept closer and leaned down in his face, but before she could scream 'Boo!' he opened and eye, and grinned,

"There you are." He said, sitting up. Josephine huffed as Camilo pulled off his yellow poncho and then began to unbutton his white shirt.

Josephine felt awkward standing there watching him undress, so she moved away and pulled off her own dress. Now she regretted wearing the bikini, for she felt like she was showing too much skin. She decided it didn't matter, for it shouldn't be weird considering her and Camilo's history.

She turned back around to find Camilo rubbing sunscreen on his arms and chest. She smirked as he tried to reach his back,

"Let me help you." She said, and walked over to him, taking some of his sunscreen and rubbing it around in her hands. She then reached out and rubbed it all along his back, making sure to not leave any white spots. Josephine couldn't help but notice how smooth his skin was, especially for a teenage boy—

"Like what you see?" Camilo mused, looking over his shoulder to smirk at the now red Josephine,

"Alright, alright, I'm done." Josephine said, playfully shoving Camilo away. He laughed, and then began to walk over to the tree. He climbed to the top of it and grabbed a hold of the rope swing,
