EJ doesn't usually like proxies because he thinks they're more mind-controlled by SlenderMan than they are in control of their own actions. He thinks they're boring and are just there to follow rules, not free to use their own minds like their regular killers. He isn't really mean to proxies but he usually strays clear of them just cause.
