General pov

Pining is a usual thing for every relationship to begin; but sometimes it never really blooms.

Friendship is a foundation for a good romcom life. A life where you're with the person you love and it feels like every moon, sun, and falling stars that pass remind you of that partner. The person you intend to love and wake up to.

What about the enemies? What's their path?

Frenemies? What do they desire the most?
Is it the feeling of seething hatred towards that person and yet still give them a cookie once they're nice to you?

Sam and Freddie on the other hand. Friends? Enemies? Or Piners?

It's the third semester of 11th grade and like the norm in Ridgeway high, Freddie is getting picked on by non-other than Sam Puckett.

"Quit it Sam! I need those notes for my entrance essay for CalTech!" Freddie snatched the notebook from her. Flipping through pages frantically to make sure nothign is ruined.

"You're going to CalTech?"

She paused her teasing. He just stared blankly at her. "I thought you wanted to go to Yale?"

She listened? He thought. Before he could answer, a perky brunette popularly known as Carly Shay approached them.

"Ugh, the water in the girl's restroom is so murky today." Complained.
Freddie nods in agreement.
"Even the boy's restroom. They really should have it fixed." Said, he.

"Yeah, I can't even wash my hands. Anyways, what're we talking about?" Carly looked at Sam then Freddie.

"Freddie's planning to attend Caltech." The blonde agressively pat him on the back, which he protests after.
"What?" Carly's brows scrunched, surprised.

"I thought you wanted-"

"Yale? Yeah, Sam asked the same thing." He puffed out a breath.
"I just thought that Caltech is closer to Seattle. It's not like I wont apply for Yale but right now, I'm leaning more towards Caltech." Freddie clarified, placing his previously stolen notebook in his backpack.

"What are your options?" Carly asked.

"Stanford, Harvard, Berkeley, M.I.T, Caltech, Yale, and NYU so far but NYU is at the other side of the U.S so probably not..."
Freddie answered.

"Still though, apply for all of them. Brown and Cornell not on your list?"
Sam stayed silent, Carly and Freddie are the only ones conversing.

"Not really. What about you Sam? Any colleges or unis on your mind?" Freddie realised that Sam zoned out.

Snapping back, "Um, uh. nah not really. There's still two years so whatever." Shrugging her shoulders.

"You should apply as early as you can so you can secure a spot. You like food, maybe become a nutritionist" Carly suggested, which made Freddie laugh hysterically.

"A nutritionist? You're kidding right?" He said through his laughs. Sam jabbed him with her elbow which stopped him from his amusement.

"Sam, you really have to think about what you want to do." Carly sighed, genuinely showing concern for her best friend.

"Well right now, I wanna ditch class so I'll do that." She walked away, rolling her eyes as she's then out of view from them.

The bell rings a few minutes later.
Of course staying true to her word, Sam was not in class. Tapping his fingers lightly and bouncing his leg, Freddie kept glancing at the clock. He was worried. Sam's been off ever since they've been talking about college.
