At night outside Ivy's house. The sky is clear, and Ivy is lying down on the grass, stargazing. She is alone. Ivy herself is just lying there, but her voice is heard as she thinks.

Ivy: To me, the stars are a new beginning. They represent everything that has already happened to us, and everything that is still to come. Some people can look at the sky and be intimidated, but I love it. It's probably partly my brother's fault. Any obsession he has usually rubs off on me. But I don't mind the stars. For some reason, they seem to be all mine.

The voice stops as one of the stars (the topmost right star of the square of the Big Dipper) disappears from the sky. Ivy gasps, and scrambles to her feet.

Ivy: AUGUST!

Exit Ivy.

End scene.
