The day you regretted the moment you woke up. Today was moving day, which of course was your favorite thing. Leaving your friends and moving to a new place where you get to start over and become the weird girl at a new school, who wouldn't love that. Your father had gotten a new job opportunity. Great. You and your family packed everything up and you took one last look of your old house. You got in the car and put on your headphones and played True Colors by Cyndi Lauper, it was your comfort song. The drive was just over 3 hours so you decided to take a nap. Your mother woke you softly to tell you that you made it to your new home. It was a beautiful home but it wasn't the same. Your father unlocked the front door and walked inside you followed. You ran up the stairs to pick the best room once you found the one you loved the most you walked back down the stairs and started unloading the car. It took 2 hours with the help of your new neighbors. Once you had everything in the house your parents thanks the neighbors while you sat on the stairs playing with your bracelet your best friend gave you before you left. Of course you appreciated the help from them but your social anxiety didn't like the new experience. You had zoned out listening to your parents talk to the new people until someone sat next to you. It was the neighbors son, he was pretty cute to say the least. "Hi" he spoke. "Hey" you responded, you were internally screaming you hated new people and new things. "I'm Gareth" he turned and looked at you. "I'm y/n" "Cute name" he smiled, you blushed "Thanks" you were freaking out internally you never got attention from anyone except your friends back home, well your old home, and now some cute guy who lives next door calls your name cute, what. His parents called for him, he stood "Well y/n, welcome to Hawkins" your mother escorted them out, maybe the move to Hawkins wouldn't be as bad as you thought.
