A loud knock on the door filled the apartment. Tracie quickly rose to her feet, setting the book she had been reading down on the table. She rubbed her eyes, slipped on her slippers, and made her way towards the front door.

Still groggy and only half awake, she couldn't help but wonder who would be knocking on her door in the middle of the night. Glancing at the clock as she passed, she saw that it was two in the morning. She sighed, weary at the thought of losing more sleep.

Opening the door, she was taken aback by the sight before her. Standing there was a man who seemed like a Greek god. She gasped as their eyes met, feeling her heart skip a beat. Her eyes couldn't help but wander over his damp hair, down his neck, across his broad shoulders, and finally to his captivating midnight eyes. A wave of longing washed over her, causing her to question her own sanity.

"Um," she coughed, struggling to find her words, "may I ask who you are and what brings you here?"

"Um," she coughed, struggling to find her words, "may I ask who you are and what brings you here?"

The enigmatic man gazed at her with intensity, akin to a lion eyeing its prey. Without hesitation, he forcefully pushed the door wide open and stepped inside the apartment. This action left Tracie feeling bewildered and on edge, though not quite frightened. There was a peculiar familiarity between them, an inexplicable connection she couldn't discern.

Closing the door behind her, Tracie cautiously followed the man's lead. As he began removing his soaked clothes, she finally noticed their dampness, a detail that had eluded her earlier. Her focus had been consumed by other thoughts.

As the man discarded his wet shirt, Tracie's eyes were captivated by a wing tattoo adorning his backside. Its existence seemed to beckon her, as if it held some inexplicable link to her own being, enticing her to reach out and touch it. However, she managed to regain control of herself and resisted the temptation to do so, firmly keeping her hand at bay.

In a swift motion, Tracie hurried to her room and fetched a blanket, which she promptly handed to the silent man

In a swift motion, Tracie hurried to her room and fetched a blanket, which she promptly handed to the silent man. He continued to gaze at her intently, his silence speaking volumes. "I am considering calling the authorities," she declared, her voice tinged with uncertainty, unsure if her words carried the weight of seriousness.

"Tracie..." his voice pleaded, resonating in her mind. His husky tone evoked a sense of familiarity and comfort, like returning home.

In a swift blur of movement, the man suddenly stood mere inches away from her. Her mouth agape in surprise, he seized the moment to passionately press his lips against hers. Tracie's eyes widened in shock as an electric sensation coursed through her body, stirring a long-lost feeling that had lain dormant.

Reacting swiftly, she forcefully pushed the mysterious man away, desperate to maintain her sanity, and delivered a resounding slap

Reacting swiftly, she forcefully pushed the mysterious man away, desperate to maintain her sanity, and delivered a resounding slap. The man, equally taken aback and at a loss for words, stood speechless.

"Leave before I call the cops," she sternly demanded, her voice quivering with a mix of fear and command. The man merely gazed at her, placing the blanket on a nearby chair before retreating toward the door.

"I will return," he said, his parting words hanging in the air. As the door closed behind him, Tracie instinctively touched her lips, still warm from the intensity of the unexpected kiss. With a racing heart, she pressed her hand against her chest, musing on the enigma of the man who evoked such a profound response within her. Questions flooded her mind as she pondered the identity of this man and the inexplicable hold he seemed to possess over her heart.
