Prologue

Penelope pov

My first day... at Morinomiya High.....

I had to transfer from Eorka High because of extreme bullying.

I was adopted by the CEO of the Eckhart Company when I was twelve.

Because he had lost his daughter, Yvonne in the festival.

He adopted me to be the replacement for his daughter.

He never said that but I know thats what he always meant.

I got bullied by the servants and those two brothers at home.

Then I got bullied by everyone at school.

Even the teachers hated me!

Everyone always looked down at me for being a commoner.

Vinter Berdandi , a senior, was kind to me. ( he's younger here)

He often stood up for me.

He was like the older brother I never had.

But then he graduated, so I don't see him around anymore.

After that, my days at Eorka only got worse.

At first it was only verbal but then it got physical.

To the point I couldn't handle it anymore. 

"Sir." - Penelope

"What is it?" - CEO ( Gonna call the Duke, CEO here.)

He isn't even looking up from the paperwork. 

You could at least pretend to care.....

"I wish to transfer to a different school. I don't like it here....." - Penelope

He narrowed his eyes and looked at me with a cold look on his face. 

"What?" - CEO

I shuddered but pressed on.

"I-I would like to attend a normal school. Please....." - Penelope

He kept on asking me for reasons.

But the reasons were quite obvious. If he had cared, then he would've noticed.

But he didn't. No one did.

"Sir, please.... I wish to attend Morinomiya High. This way its a  win-win for both of us. You wouldn't have to deal with commotions. And I will not be bullied." - Penelope

His eyes widened in shock.

"Bullied?! Who dared to-?!" - CEO

I bit my lip and then I lied in a low voice. 

"I thought you knew...." - Penelope

Because I never once thought that.

I always knew.... that the only thing the Eckharts ever cared about.... was their reputation.....

He looked back at his table, ashamed.

"Alright. I'll allow it." - CEO

I smiled, relieved.

"Thank you. Then I'll take my leave." - Penelope

And now here I am...

Ugh...! I hope no one recognises me!

If they do then I'll get bullied all over again!

And that man won't let me transfer schools again!

I took a deep breath.

Calm down, Penelope.... Even if I get bullied.... it can't be worse than Eorka.

Ok! You can do this!

"You must be Miss Eckhart." - ???

I turned around see a man in a butler uniform. His eyes were closed and his face was expressionless.

"Uh- yes! I'm Pe-Penelope!" - Penelope

"Its an honor to meet you, Miss Penelope. You may call me Saikawa. The Principal wishes to meet you." - Saikawa

I nodded.

He then turned around and knelt, putting his hands behind his back.

I looked at him, confused.

"Since I am unable to drive you there, please allow me to carry you." - Saikawa

"Ehhh?!" - Penelope

"It was a joke." - Saikawa

I let out a sigh of relief.

He lead me to the Principal's office.

He knocked on the door thrice and opened the door after hearing a muffled 'come in'.
