Penelope stared at the three women standing at the door.
She mimicked Ryuichi who stood up and greeted them.
Upon further conversation, she realized the women were teachers.
She immediately introduced herself, using only her first name.
The teachers nodded at her in acknowledgement.
"The Chairwoman already filled us in on your situation." - Mrs. Kumatsuka (Kirin's mother)
Her lips formed a small 'o' as she took in that piece of information.
"Don't worry, you won't face any trouble here! If someone ever troubles you, you can always come to us!" - Mrs. Mamizuka (Takuma and Kazuma's mother
"That's right. I'm sure Ryuichi-Kun will also be willing to help you." - Mrs. Sawatari (Midori's mother)
Penelope smiled gratefully at the teachers, glad that they weren't like the teachers in Eorka High. She was overjoyed that the teachers here would not bully her.
She bowed to them.
"Thank you! I'm really grateful!" - Penelope
The teachers smiled at her and Ryuichi before bidding them goodbye along with their children.
The only child who's parent had not yet come was Taka.
She stared at the energetic child who jumped around Kotaro.
She stared out the window.
It was already evening, why wasn't Taka's parent here yet.
Noticing her confusion, Ryuichi spoke up.
"Taka-Kun's mother is a senior teacher so she sometimes has to work late. Unlike the other teachers, her workload also includes some of the office papers. She's often held back at school, grading papers. I suppose Kamitani will be coming to pick him up today as usual." - Ryuichi
"Kamita-?" - Penelope
As if one cue, the door was slammed open, causing her to flinch.
The noise reminded her of Reynold.
She stared at the male who stood at the door.
"Taka! It's time to go!" - ???
"Don't wanna!" - Taka
Taka then hid behind Penelope.
"I wanna play with big sis!" - Taka
The man then whacked Taka on the head, causing the little one to cry.
"Kamitani!" - Ryuichi
Penelope, horrified, knelt beside Taka and let him wail in her arms.
"How could you just hit a child like that?!" - Penelope
Only now did he notice her presence.
"Who are you?" - ???
"I'm Penelope Eckha-!" - Penelope
She immediately shut up at her slip up.
He narrowed his eyes at her.
"I'm Penelope! Who might you be?" - Penelope
"My name is Kamitani Hayato. I'm Taka's older brother." - Hayato
Her eyes traveled to the tantrum throwing toddler in her arms.
They do look similar...
"You may be his brother but it is still wrong of you to hit him!" - Penelope
