Alliance broken?

Mary's POV
some days have passed and I've never felt more happy to be back. Francis has been so kind to me and I hope our wedding will come soon. Today Thomas of Portugal will come to court . I am excited to meet him since I am seeing him for the first time. I went to eat breakfast , as I was hungry, and saw Francis and Catherine already eating.
„Good Morning" he said.
„Good Morning „ I replied as I began eating. As soon as we all finished we Heard  Thomas arriving .
„Let's go meet him" Catherine said . We began walking as we saw him also walking towards us. He bowed and greeted us before walking away with Catherine for some business.
„Let's go outside Mary" Francis said taking my hand . I of course followed him. It was a cool day with little sun .
„I can't wait to marry you „ he said kissing my hand.
„Me neither" I said chuckling.
„No , I honestly can't wait . I wish I knew how to make the wedding faster" he said sighing.
„I know how" I said and when he realized he started smirking.
„But we can't „ I said right after. His smirk dropped but he also knew we shouldn't .
„Let's go inside „ he said as it began raining. I quickly followed him inside and we made our way down the hall. I saw Thomas walking toward us for the 2nd time.
„Queen Mary may I have a word with you alone?" he asked whilst bowing to us . I was confused but agreed and we walked somewhere more privat.
„What is it Sir Thomas?" it asked.
„I have a proposal for you and hope you accepted it ." he said and I felt even more confused.
„Yes of course what is it?" I asked
„I want you to marry me" he said as I stared in shook and waited some time before he spoke again
„Marry me Mary " he said with a hopefull look in his eyes.
„Sir Thomas you know I am Engaged to Francis and I wouldn't consider another marriage" I said
„I know but your country is at war and you need the support that France can't and won't give you" he said
„I will find a way" I said as I began to walk off.he grabbed my hand and said
„there is no other way you have to marry me for your country's sake „ he said . I knew he was right but still , I loved Francis.
Without saying another word I walked out . What should I do? I need to help my country. I walked to my room and before I closed it I Heard Francis.
„Mary wait" he said running towards me .
„Yes Francis?" I said
„What did Thomas want?" he asked. I really didn't want to lie to him so I told home the truth.
„He asked me to marry him" I said with a sigh
„What? But he know we are to marry" he said looking worried
„I know but Scotland needs the support he can provide." he stared at me in shook.
„Are you considering marrying him?" he asked
„I-I don't know Francis . My country is at stake „ he looked at me with a hurt look.
„Then I must leave you to consider it" he said looking down
„Franc-„ I stared but before I could finish he walked off. I really didn't want it to be like this but there is no other way. I walked to my bed and sobbed . I wish this wouldn't be so hard .
