Tommy sat on his bed. He had a piece of toast and a cup if yogurt next to him. This is how it's been for 2 months.
Tommy pushed his food aside and moved to his calendar.
3 days til my birthday! He thought to himself.
Once I turn 18, I'll explore the world! I'll make friends, maybe get a girlfriend!! I can't wait!
He wrote exclamation points on the day of his birthday.
He didn't know much of anything. He was like a child.
He could count and do basic maths, but normal everyday stuff was hard for him, since he was locked up.
His parents tried to avoid him from the outside world.
No internet, no music, no fun outside.
The only outside activities he ever got was gardening work.
But to him, life wasn't rough.
That's because he thought this was normal.
"Thomas! Go feed the damn chickens!" His father yelled.
"Okay Dad!" Tommy found it exciting, his family hated when he had fun.
Tommy ran outside and started to hum a song, one that he made right there on the spot.
He knew what music was of course, just hadn't listened to much.

He was done feeding the chickens, and went back to his bed to draw.
"Tommy! Go make us some food!" His mother yelled.
Again, he loved cooking.
~Time skip to night~
Tommy's mom came in, "Night Tom, make sure you don't stay up late."
"Okay! Goodnight Mom love you!" He said.
His mom never said "Love you" back.
Tommy thought she never would.
