The End

Kara Blakely never really had anybody, so when she found her first real friend- Daniel- in middle school, she held onto him for dear life. She was his comfort and he was hers, it was a mutual understanding. They were nothing but platonic and yet, they were oh so possessive of each other.

Kara and Danny got into the wrong crowd at a younger age. They got into drugs and weapons more and more as the days passed by. After they left school, inevitably both teens would smuggle different weapons through the Canadian and Mexican border as they sold the drugs along the way for Daniel's father, Negan.

The best friends were great fighters. The two were at the top of the gang and in higher ranks within a year. Kara used her beauty to get information while Danny used his hands and weapons if it didn't work. They were rarely partnered with different people but when it did happen, bad things went down every time. They would throw her off rhythm or not have her back as she did theirs. More times than not, the partners were killed or maimed every time. They were weak in her eyes. If they couldn't do a simple job then why would they be sent out with her?

That was until she made another friend. Daniel wasn't all too happy about it, but he kept an eye on them whenever they were close. The two new friends were sent out on a mission to locate their rival gang's cargo but before they could cross into their territory, Kage was shot. With a sniper, Kara assumes.

Kara finally had enough after her partners were killed by a rival gang. She wanted out. She didn't want Daniel to end up like them, so she made plans.

She went to the only person she could fully trust and the only person she wanted to protect.

"We need to leave. Come on, I can get us tickets to Italy and we can get out of this. We can stay in my grandfather's cottage until he stops looking. Kage just died! We can't stay here anymore." She pleaded.

Daniel's face stayed blank as she searched his body for any sign of agreement. He looked at her with no emotion as he raised his own gun to her forehead. "What are you doing?..." She whispered with round, glistening eyes. The rain pattered against the window as their chests moved up and down in sync.

"My dad won't let us leave." He barely whispered before lowering his gun. She let out a breath of relief. The relief didn't last when the butt of Daniel's gun found the back of her head, knocking her out.

When her eyes opened once more, she found herself lined up with the traitors. Her breathing picked up for a single moment, but she showed no other weakness.

She knew she'd be the first to die, and painfully if she did. A man, no older than his mid- 20's was kneeling beside her as Daniel's father paced in front of them. She recognized him as Glenn. He distributed the drugs in town in disguise as a pizza man. Tears streamed down his face as he shook his head.

"I swear, sir. It wasn't me. Please I've got a wife and kid." His sobs grew louder and the boss didn't like that.

"Well, someone's gotta show what happens to the guilty. Gotta send a message you know?" Before anyone could process it, his bat met with Glenn's head. Blood spattered on Kara's face as she stared straight ahead, face devoid of any emotion.

Daniel betrayed her. Kara knew that much. She wanted to leave and she made the mistake of caring. She shouldn't have cared... or trusted so easily.

Daniel crouched in front of her, curling a piece of her bloody hair around his finger. "You know... My father sent me to your school all those years ago to get you into this life. You can blame your daddy for whatever happens next."

His quiet words confused her. 'It was all fake?' She asked in her head as she forced the glossiness of her eyes down. Her father was a bad man. He left when she was six. Her mother never really told her why but when she joined Daniel and his father Negan, she was told that he stole a bunch of drugs and gambled away the stolen money before running. She was never told about where or if he ended up someplace far away.

Her mom died when she was 13- ovarian cancer.

She had no one.

Except for Daniel.

Now she's kneeled before him, just for the thought of wanting to leave.

And that's okay with her. She didn't expect it to happen  so soon, but she accepted it, even if she wished it went another way.

So when his father's bat swung down, right before it cracked her skull, she gave Daniel a wink.

She knew she'd go on somewhere else as a new person. She always believed in the afterlife. Maybe she'd get revenge or maybe she'd be happy and have a real family.

Someone far away was watching Kara and had a proud gleam in his eye.

He may just intervene after all.
