Anastasia comfortably sat on the kitchen stool watching Ric struggle to work the coffee machine "you need help?" she teased taking a sip of her own coffee
"no, i can do-" Ric looked up at her "what did you do to the coffee machine?" he asked pointing a finger at her
AJ huffed "i did nothing." she spoke slowly pointing a finger back at him
"Ana-" he began to whine but Elena quickly interrupted "and you're sure it's a vampire?" the two turned towards her as she walked into the kitchen talking on the phone
she sighs loudly "doesn't mean it's not. i'll call her." Elena walked over to Ric turning on the coffee machine "tell her, thank you for her help" she continued "oh, Caroline wait, just keep tonight small, please" she added before ending the call
AJ let out a loud laugh "please, it's Caroline, she is the literal definition of go big or go home." she sang walking over to the sink to wash her coffee mug. "so, was that news on Stefan?" she faced Elena
she threw her phone on the couch "or could just be more hybrid brothers' victims." Elena suggested
"you're certain Stefan is still with them." Alaric added slightly unsure
"easy to be certain when the alternative is that he's dead." she sighed "are you sure you're still okay on the couch?" Elena asked watching him as he folded his sheets
"yeah, yeah. I'm good." he replied
"are you sure? because Ric you spent half the summer on it, if you need your own bedroom" AJ interjected, pointing upstairs
"uh and sleep in your dead parents room or my dead girlfriend's room " he awkwardly stated
"mhm, right." she nodded, Elena walked away "wait, Elena!" AJ yelled stopping her, she looked at ric and nodded "happy birthday" they both said in sync
she scoffed "thanks." she smiled walking out
Anastasia walked out of the house making her way towards the grill, she stepped into the driveway only to be immediately stopped by a truck pulling up quickly in front of her "what the hell!" she yelled; startled
"get in gorgeous." Damon spoke poking his head out the window
Ric also poked his head out "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." he apologized
"well if it isn't dumb and dumber." she let out a breath of relief seeing them "geez" AJ groaned making her way into the truck not bothering to question their demand
"okay so where exactly are we going?" AJ finally inquired a while into the drive
"following a Stefan lead." Damon turned back innocently offering her a smile
