Steve's POV

"Oh shit."

" Yeah I know. That's why I need to know how to play. Please, teach me Dustin!" I plead.

"You know I can't say no to that." Dustin smirks. " Besides, in a way, you two are like my parents."

"Oh, so I have been upgraded from babysitter to parent. Great." I say with obvious sarcasm in my tone.

"Whatever, you know it's the truth." Dustin mutters as he walks out of Family Video.

"Meet me at my house tomorrow around six o'clock so I can 'teach you'." Dustin says as he walks out of the building.

"Okay!" I yell even though he has already walked out. Maybe telling Dustin wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Telling Dustin was a terrible idea.

"So do you ever think that you're gonna tell him?" He asks excitedly.

"I already told you I don't know. Besides, I don't think he likes me." I respond clearly annoyed. He has been asking questions for the past thirty minutes and I am yet to learn anything about dnd. "Dustin I need to learn how to play dnd if I ever want to get close to him! So, cmon! Help me!"

"Calm down Steve. You can't just start playing dnd. There is so much that goes into playing every game. And besides, I haven't even made a campain for you yet." Dustin says like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Well maybe if you would stop asking me questions about Eddie then you would have already made the campain." I say while flicking his arm.

"Whatever." Dustin mumbles while writing something down.

"How long does it normally take to make a campain?" I ask.

"Depends." Dustin responds dryly.

"Oh, so now you'll be quiet." I say under my breath.

As I sit in silence I start to think. What if Eddie doesn't like me back? What if he doesn't even let me join hellfire? But what if he does? What if I go through all of the trouble of learning this game for him, and still nothing happens? What if this is all for nothing? But what if it's not? What if he likes me back? That probably won't happen. God I hate being an overthinker.

I check the time and it is almost eight o'clock, which means I have to leave soon and I have yet to learn a single thing about dnd.

"Dustin, I have to go home soon." I say to him.

"What?! But I just got done with your campain!" He whines.

" Fine, I can play for a few minutes but then I really have to go. Now, tell me what I have to do."
