I had spent nearly an hour sitting on the sofa in my balcony, and I was staring at that tree house.
Livia was doing her mathematics homework, because she had not done it previously.
G: - Do you think that the thing I saw the last night... Was even human? -
L: - Well... I would say yes at 98%, from the way it climbed up to the tree house, but I don't know how to explain the velocity employed to reach the oak tree... And it probably didn't even get hurt from jumping from your window -
G: - Yeah, you may be right... Everything in this is so strange... -
My mother appeared from Livia's bedroom door:
Mom: - Which of my two beautiful and very intelligent daughters... -When my mother praised us like this, it meant that she wanted something from us- ... would gently take Ugo for a walk? -
L: - I'm studying, but I'll go if you want... -
I took that opportunity and decided to go outside, once in awhile, so I ran to the door and screeched:
G: - NONONO! Don't worry Liv, I've already finished doing my homework so I'm going! -
L: - Okay... Thank you, I guess? -
I went downstairs, put Ugo his collar and quickly stepped outside the door.
It was September, and yet there was a cold wind and i felt like freezing. I turned the corner and guess who's there? Javaad!
I pretended not to see him and tried to go straight without being noticed, but somebody grabbed my arm.
J: - What do you have against me? -
G: - Nothing... - I wagged my arm and he let me go.
J: - Just... Just let me be a friend of yours... - he held out his hand and I shook it, unwilling.
I couldn't help but notice a particular scar on his wrist, but I thought it wasn't such a big deal.

Finally, after a short conversation me and Javaad went our separate ways and I took the way home, almost running.
Then I instinctively climbed the ladder to the tree house.
As always, the photographs had been replaced for newer ones: this time my attention was caught by a pic where the already mentioned sad kid, who had a familiar grin stuck on his lips.Suddenly, a noise made me boggle.
G: - Who is it? -
No reply.
I wandered around the tree house in the gloom... But then a single ray of sun enlightened an abandoned corner. I approached and there was a photo of me, which had been taken the night before... While I was sleeping; there was also a note on it:
Take it, and reassemble our puzzle
I could bet that I was not alone inside the house.
G: - H-hello... Listen, I do not know if I should be scared of you, but I want to know what do you want from me... -
X: - One life... - said a hoarse voice from behind me.
G: - Which one? -
X: - Your sister's -
G: - NO! NO WAY!!! -I didn't want Livia to suffer, I loved her too much- Take me as your hostage, instead. I'll come here every evening if you want me to, but please don't touch Livia! - There was a long silence, but then the mysterious voice answered.
X: - All right... From now on, you must be submissive to my authority, and take care not to tell anybody... Otherwise, YOU are going to be the first one to die -
I ran down and went home as fast as I could, then I locked myself in my bathroom and started crying.
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST DO?!
I was so terrified and feared the worst for me, my sister and all my friends, that I had ended up letting my heart talk before my brain.
I hadn't even seen the face of my hangman, but he had to be colossal.
The idea of that made me want to throw up my soul.
I had just sold myself to the devil.
A/N hello! This chapter is dedicated to @hstylesismylife, the author of this story, who's getting thorugh a tough moment right now.
