Eddie puts a finger to his lips and squat runs to the window to reach inside and grab the walkie. I position myself on the side of the house out of the line of eyesight. I look through the peek holes in the bushes and trees, seeing familiar green and yellow jackets carrying weaponry and angry expressions. Eddie rushes back out and stands near me.

"How did they find us?!" He whispers to me.

"I'm not sure. But I am sure we need to hide or do something to divert their attention." He nods his head over to the dock area. "We can hide under there, it's already obvious we camped out in there so they will make sure to search it thoroughly."

"You're right." I follow him underneath the dock on a landslide hill. It was slippery and I tried to keep my composer by applying pressure to the bottom of the dock with my hands. I felt splinters enter my palms.

Eddie takes place right beside me and turns on the walkie.

"Dustin, we have a problem here. We've been found!" The radio emitted static and no response. "Dustin! Hey!" He whispers more aggressively and slaps it.

"Stop Eddie! Are you trying to get us killed?" He slams it on the ground and sighs, rubbing his temples. I wasn't sure why they weren't responding. There was no way we are out of range.

"Just- forget the walkie. Stay silent." I whisper. I close my eyes.

"Okay, okay. Silent. Silent as a.. as a.." he struggles to find the next word.

"A mouse?" I ask with my eyebrow raised.

"Aha! Yes, that." He snaps his fingers at me. I rub my hand down my face and readjust my legs.

"Munson! Come out! You're already done for buddy. If you think I'm letting you escape just for you to go murder someone else you're crazy! You will pay for what you did to Chrissy! Oh look what we have here- there's more than just you?! Wait a second... these clothes.." I hold my breath and close my eyes. "You have my cousin with you? Was she in on this too? Oh, I knew she was too strange for her own good. So this was a two person job!" He laughs manically.

"Eddie, we need to book it. They will look here eventually. Get that boat untitled and out from the marsh right there and I will try and distract them to go in the opposite direction."

"That's dangerous!" He spits with his arms flailing.

"Better than you. He has no mercy for you as of right now. If worse comes to worse and he were to find me I could try to get through to him to call the search off and tell the cops you're innocent. He's the reason you have a red target on your ass, waiting to be branded!" I whisper. His eyes widen and he nods, squatting and running over to the abandoned wooden boat.

I go around the cabin on the opposite side and peer through the back window. Jason held a bat in his hand and his goons were with him. Shit. He was checking under and in everything possible.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" I look behind me and grab a big gray rock, big enough to make a noticeable sound. I creep over to the right side of the house more, pull back my arm, and throw it into the dry brush hopefully creating footstep sound.

"Over here!" I hear their footsteps go towards the bait. Idiots. While I can, I run around to the left side of the house. Something I might have failed to tell Eddie is that I was going for the keys to his truck. No car, no chase. No chase, no problem. I run around and see their figures in the woods. I make way for the truck and dive into it through the passenger side. My ribs are impaled by the stick shift but I'm at a point where it doesn't phase me and my adrenaline takes over.

"Hey!" Shit. Shit, shit, shit. "Stop!" I hear stampeding footsteps come for me as I rip open the dash and flip down the visors. I fumble for metal. Suddenly, a singular key drops from the drivers side visor. They fall on the floor, and I try to reach to get them wanting my feet out so I can easily get out. It was stuck under the seat itself. I bend my wrist in an odd position and try to reach it. I feel the blood rush to my head and my chest get tight.
