Derek wasn't an overly protective partner. Sure, he had his moments, where a person might take it too far with you, but overall he was pretty chill. That was only natural after he first witnessed you stand up for yourself. You were a 'firecracker' or he liked you say. You didn't care about anyones feelings if they were rude or disrespectful. On a day out with the gang, a guy had come up to you to flirt, in all the wrong ways. JJ and Derek couldn't help but wince, knowing exactly what was going to happen.
