Yoongi's heart feels like exploding when he finally hear her voice after 10 years.
His eyes start watering and he can't stop the tears from escaping his eyes.
He misses her so much.
So much that it physically hurts him.
He can't stop sobbing.
"Hey..." He manages to say. "How are you?"
"Good.... I'm good... um... I've been doing good... yeah.. um..." Aera's voice trails off as she struggles to find words.
"You must be so busy." Yoongi says, trying to hide the sadness in his voice.
"Yeah... yeah... I guess so...."
They both lapse into silence. Neither one knowing what to say or what else to say.
"I'm so sorry." Aera eventually says softly.
She hates having to apologize. Especially after what she's done.
Yoongi laughs bitterly. It isn' t funny.
"Why are you apologizing? I should be the one saying sorry to you."
"No... No you don' t owe me anything... I shouldn' t have broken your heart."
"Yes you did... You did... I was mad and frustrated... I was angry... I was frustrated with myself... with my life... and with you... And you're the only person who ever made me laugh... and who ever gave me hope."
"I'm so sorry..."
They fall silent for a moment.
He was afraid to ask her if she was still with him.
Afraid to ask her if they will ever be together again.
Afraid to ask why she left him.
"I miss you so much." He says softly. "Every single day."
She can't help but cry.
"I know... I miss you too. I wish I didn't have to leave you."
Yoongi sniffles
.
"It's okay. Don' t worry. I'm okay."
He tries his best to keep himself composed. He doesn't want her to hear him breaking.
"Are you working today?" She asks.
"Yes." He answers shortly.
She sighs and he knows that she feels guilty.
"I don't want you to be working on a Saturday." She whispers softly.
"I know..." Yoongi says.
Aera can hear the pain in his voice. She hates this.
"What are you going to do for work now?"
He sighs.
"Not much. I mainly stay home most of the time."
He knows he's lying. He needs something to do to keep himself distracted, to distract himself from her absence.
And he knows exactly what it is. He just hopes she won't notice it.
Aera stays quiet for a few minutes trying to figure out how to tell him the truth.
"Can you come and visit me sometime?" She asks softly.
She can practically hear his heart break.
She regrets her request.
She wants him to come back, to stay with her. But she also knows that he needs to live his own life.
The guilt inside her grows tenfold as Yoongi stays silent.
"If you want. Maybe I can." He replies quietly.
Silence fills the void once again.
"I miss you." He finally speaks.
His voice breaks and she can hear the emotion behind his words. But there is no point in saying that.
"I miss you too."
She says quietly.
"I need to go... I'll call you later..and I will send my address... ok?"
"Ok." He says.
After the call ended she lays in her bed and cried.
She can't believe that she left him. She was such an idiot.
She knew how important they were to each other and she left him. But there wasn't any other option.
It wasn't fair to either of them. She feels terrible.
And she hates herself for it.
