Kunot noo na lang akong tumango bago umupo sa aking kama. He walks towards me before leaning on my vanity table.

"How's your mission?" Paunang tanong nito sa akin. I swallowed the lump in my throat when I heard that.

"I-it's going good," nauutal kong agot dahil sa kaba. Sumingkit naman ang mata ni Cane na waring hindi nagustuhan ang sinabi ko.

"Don't lie to me Roxanne." Lalo akong kinabahan nang tumama sa akin ang malalamig nitong tingin.

Sometimes Cane can become a very calm person but when it comes to our work he'll go berserk if ever you didn't do it right. Kahit na ako ang lider ng team na ito, still, Cane is my superior because I think of him as my brother. His words, I follow.

"Roxanne you had one job, don't let your feelings affect your mission. Separate lust from work!" I knew it, he already knows what I'm doing.

Sa loob kasi ng ilang araw na pagkikita namin ni Rogue hindi ko na magawa ng maayos ang trabaho ko. I don't know what's happening to me. Dati naman kahit na may kalandian ako nagagawa ko pa din ng maayos ang aking trabaho, but now it seems that my mind and body are starting to forget everything. "I-i'm sorry," I said guiltily while fidgeting with my fingers that were on my lap. Cane sigh that made me shut my eyes close. I can feel his disappointment.

"This night go to the headquarters, sir have an information regarding Ephialtes' location, you need to be there to execute a good plan. Don't disappoint me again Roxanne, you know me very well. I don't tolerate any members the second time you'll all do the same shit! Understood?" Singhal nito.

Mabilis akong tumango habang nakikipag labanan ng tingin sa kaniya. The atmosphere between me and Cane is very heavy. This is the very first time that this happened to us. Ilang segundo pa ang tinagal nito bago na seryosong lumabas ng aking kwarto.

Nanghihinang humawak ako sa aking dibdib bago nagbuga ng hangin. I almost cut my tongue in half dahil kagat-kagat ko ito habang sinasalo ang masasamang tingin ni Cane.

Napasintido na lang ako bago tumingin sa malayo. Cane's right, what I'm doing right now is pure shit! How can I involve myself with someone that I don't know? Professor Rogue is just our guidance counselor and chemistry teacher but why do we end up as a fuck buddy?

Gigil kong sinabunutan ang aking buhok bago pabagsak na humiga sa kama, I needed to clear my mind first especially because I'm meeting my commander again. Rogue can wait but my work can not.

"Come in," malamig na sagot sa loob kaya naman hindi ko maiwasang kabahan. Bumuntong hininga ako bago tuluyang pumasok sa madilim nitong opisina.

As usual, our boss is seating quietly on the dark side of his office while sipping an alcoholic beverage. Hindi ko maiwasang malanghap ang napakatapang na amoy ng rum na nagmumula sa kanya.

"Cane talks to me Eurydice," panimula nito na nagpakaba sa akin, I can feel his deadly stare that if it is a knife I'm sure a lump of dead meat right now.

"P-pardon me Sir?" Malakas ang tambol ng aking dibdib habang hinihintay ang sagot nito.

"Sexual interaction with someone is not prohibited in the line of your work, but there's a limitation Eurydice. Even if Cane didn't tell me what you're doing I still have my eyes on you, and you greatly disappoint me," mababa at napakalamig ng boses nito na lalong nagpakaba sa akin.

I heard him place his glass on the table before the squeaking sound of his chair indicating that he leaned on it. Minutes pass and we both didn't talk, he just quietly stare at me like a predator ready to kill his prey.

"I will give you a chance because this is your first time." Nakahinga ako ng malalim sa narinig. Akala ko hanggang dito na lang ako dahil sa isang pagkakamali.

"Coup Island, one of X's properties that's open for people. I need you to go there and search for the exact location of Ephialtes, I heard that he's just wandering around that island. No worries about everything, all you need to do is to work and kill. Is it clear Eurydice?" Sandali akong natahimik sa sinabi nito bago dahan-dahang tumango.

"Yes sir."

"Don't disappoint me with this one, Eurydice, just don't," makahulugan at nakakatakot na turan nito. Somehow at the back of my mind, I find it familiar, very familiar that it's already suffocating. Bawat galaw nito at ang kaniyang pagsasalita ay parang nakita ko na noon.

Pero kagaya dati pinagsawalang bahala ko na lang ito bago tumango. Hindi pa ngayon ang oras para ito ang intindihin ko. I need to finish this work immediately. Ayaw ko ng ma-dissapoint si Cane. Once is enough.

Nagpaalam na ako sa kaniya bago mabilis na umalis ng kaniyang opisina. I can't really read my boss's mind.

"You sure you can do this alone?" Clarisse once again asks while helping me pack my things. Our boss already book me a flight to Coup island. Nakahanda na rin ang hotel na aking tutuluyan sa isang linggo kong pagtuloy doon.

Even though I'm feeling reluctant about this island I just chose to ignore it because of the heavy-duty everyone's expecting me to do. Wala ako sa lugar upang tumanggi dahil una sa lahat kasalanan ko ito, I chose to neglect my duty over my sexual desire.

"I can do this Clarisse. I Roxanne Camille will surely gather enough information and kill Ephialtes with my bare hands. I don't know what's my boss's motive on why he's insisting on assassinating Ephialtes but I'll gladly do so. And after this, iyong may mga atraso naman sa akin dito sa Pilipinas ang isusunod ko.
