-have them get closesat first. Let's say character A is reaching behind Characted B for a book. Describe character A's scent. Maybe they put on perfume or cologne beforehand.

-describe their looks in detail in a character POV. For example, characters A and B are going to a formal event. In character A's POV describe how they think B's outfit looks on them. Describe how beautiful/gorgeous/handsome they think they look.

-research body language and how we show attraction through it.

-let them be there for each other. Physical attraction is great and all but for a good relationship they have to have an emotional don't.

-conflicts help. Make them realistic. Let's say A left without telling B one night. Have them argue. Have them apologize and grow from that.

-depending on the direction your story is taking, add a dagger/knife to the throat scene. And get descriptive. Don't just keep it as the knife being the main point.

-show how they care for each other and find little ways to show it.

-research love languages and let toe characters show it. This can be things like words of affirmation, physical touch, and gift giving. (there are more) usually, these have a reason behind them. People whose love language is words of affirmations tend to have wanted their parents to tell them how much they care and loved them but they never/rarely did. These things go in-depth man.

-don't make one character too emotionally strong. They can put in a strong act for their love interest(s) but show how that affects them. Show how they react when they can finally let it all out. Show the other character(s) finding out about this and try to help them.

-if your characters ever "break up" such as avoid each other or not talk for a while. Have their reunion be either heartbreaking or make you squeal. Either or. No in between.

-no you do not have to have them hook up. You can hint at it if you really want to but ut's not a necessity. Sex is not needed for a relationship.
