Diego's Pov:
As we make our way downstairs to the kitchen to eat, we hear laughter in the distance.
Walking into the dinning area we see Aunt Sila and Katrina at the table laughing at whatever they were talking about.
I look around noticing someone is missing. I'm about to ask Aunt Sila where Mateo is when I feel something hard run into my knees. Looking down I see Mateo smiling up at me with his arms around my legs.
"Te tengo Diego." he says with a big smile on his face.
(I got you Diego)
I smile, lifting him up in the air, "Sí lo hiciste Mateo, ni siquiera te vi correr hacia mí, pequeño bribón escurridizo," I say tickling his stomach in the process.
("Yes you did Mateo, I didn't even see you run up to me, you sneaky little rascal")
"Okay okay," he says laughing as I set him back down on his feet. He turns and does the same thing to my uncle Miguel.
"Hola papá, te he echado de menos" Mateo says as Uncle Miguel picks him up, ruffling his hair.
("Hi Papa, I missed you)
"Yo también te he echado de menos, ¿te has portado bien hoy con tu madre?"
( I missed you too, were you good today for your mama?)
Mateo shakes his head yes, "Sí, fui muy bueno papá." he says a little too fast.
("Yes, I was very good papa")
Uncle Miguel and I smirk at each other.
"¿De verdad, así que si le pregunto a tu madre me dirá que fuiste un buen chico?".
("Really, so if I ask your mama then she will tell me you were a good boy?".)
Mateo looks away and puts his head on my uncle's shoulder, he always does this when he's caught in a lie.
"Lo siento papá", he says with a pout on his face. I roll my eyes knowing he's about to get let off easy, Mateo and Katrina do the same thing.
(I'm sorry papa)
Rubbing his back he says, "Está bien Mateo, no vuelvas a mentirme ¿vale?"
("It is okay Mateo, do not lie to me again okay?")
"De acuerdo papá, prometo que no lo haré" he says with a little smile, knowing he got away with it.
("Okay papa, I promise I won't.")
Uncle Miguel puts him down and we watch him run over to Aunt Sila, she picks him up smothering him in kisses.
"He just played you tío," I tell him as we make our way to the table.
He chuckles patting my back, "You'll see when you have children of your own."
I shake my head at his comment, maybe one day but not anytime soon. Children are a lot of responsibility and I already have a lot on my plate.
"Yeah okay" I tell him, taking a seat next to Aunt Sila.
"Así que por fin habéis acabado con vuestra charla, por lo que veo," Aunt Sila says putting Mateo down and making our plates.
("So you boys are finally done with your talk, I see")
Giving Katrina and her a kiss on the head, Uncle Miguel tells her while taking a seat ,"Sí, cariño, ha ido muy bien".
