Shortly after Alette opened her sleepy eyes, they shut once more. She grumbled at the antagonizing light that struck through her curtains and grabbed a pillow to obstruct her view.
Just as she was beginning to drift back to sleep, she heard a sound she recognized all too well.
"Tilly has come to wake young Alette for breakfast. Ivy has helped Tilly prepare the perfect birthday brunch for our young Alette!"
Alette slowly lifted the soft pillow from her sight and smiled at the sight of her house-elf. "Thank you, Tilly. I appreciate the thought but I'm so tired. Can't I sleep in? It is my birthday..." Alette drifted off as she fought to keep her eyes open.
That plan quickly ended when more sunlight beamed through her large windows. Tilly grinned as she drew open the last curtain and she watched as Alette's sharp eyebrows furrow in annoyance.
"Rise and shine little one! Master Evan has slept in as well and it is time for brunch. Tilly has waited long enough!" Somewhat adjusted to the sudden change in light, Alette watched as Tilly waddled to pick up some random clothing that lay across the wooden floors.
