y'all remember the time when putting someone else's face as your profile picture was considered being an "anon" and now when someone does it, it's called "maintaining a theme"? i mean i know, being an anon meant you were pretending to be someone you're not, like the following exhibits A, B & C. but what i did was, i used some pictures and said those were me but i never actually said that the people in the pictures were me.
EXHIBIT A
EXHIBIT B
i have been part of the "anon" time of wattpad when putting pictures like this (exhibit C) ⬇️
(blake steven, hottie, obviously, saw him EVERYWHERE back in the day, EXHIBIT C.1)
(couldn't find any girl whom i saw a lot back then, but fits my description EXHIBIT C.2)
was the time when everyone called you an anon.
and now when people put pictures like these(exhibit D) ⬇️
(Beautiful obvi, EXHIBIT D.1)
(Cutie. obvi, EXHIBIT D.2)
they have aced the theme game.
i recently changed my own theme, and decided to put someone's beautiful gold accessorised feet as my profile picture, i will probably never know who this beautiful lady is and i know for sure that my feet will never look like that. but regardless of that acknowledgement, i still put it up and gave me so much of social and personal validation when previously i had my profile picture of myself! in my university's library's handicapped toilet when i was ill out of my wits!
am i overthinking things or am i right? because if i am right, everyone, including myself, are anons and we're just pretending to be someone we're not because i know, your mom would probably never let you out of the house wearing that xD (for both guys and girls)
tell me in the comments below. what do you think?
