the apartment was awfully quite on a sunday morning.

usually, chaeyoung would blast some church music into her speakers but today, she just stared at the young man across the room.

jimin was reading a book; a romance novel, to be exact. he was too invested into the story, that he didn't even bother to blink or look away from the object.

"my girlfriend used to read these kind of books."

chaeyoung's head unintentionally hit the table, creating a loud thud. she hissed and held her red forehead. it was embarrassing but jimin wasn't even fazed, like he waz already used to seeing her like a nervous wreck when he was around her.

"your girlfriend must've been nice girl." she began rubbing her forehead, hoping that it was decrease the burning pain.

jimin shrugged and closed the book. "cheaters aren't so nice."

she sealed her lips together. it was quite insensitive of her, but in her defense, she completely forgot that he even had a girlfriend.

the boy started heading to the small lounge near the kitchen and sat on the beanbag across chaeyoung. he spread his legs and threw his head back. the view distracted her for a good few seconds.

"i forgot these things existed." he said, making himself comfortable on the soft lump of cotton.

come to think of it, chaeyoung was always curious how he managed to sleep under her bed for eight years without the feeling of discomfort. she also wondered why the past tenants didn't see him under their bed.

was she just lucky enough to even see a spirit under it?

"jimin-ah," the way she called his name made him look at her immediately, "i was wondering, did any of the past tenants notice your presence here?"

jimin shook his head, finally crossing his legs which spared her life. "you're the first one to ever notice me."

was it supposed to be an honor? a traumatic experience? no one knows.

their conversation was cut off when someone knocked on the door. chaeyoung panicked, not knowing where to hide the confused boy. she was about to grab his arm but jimin was quick enough to run away from her.

"sorry," she ran after him, "but can you go back under my bed? someone's here."

"oh, alright." jimin didn't even question her since she was in a hurry.

chaeyoung composed herself, fixed her hair, and cleared her throat. she opened the door and met hoseok's bright eyes.

"hobi, come in." she invited him inside. "what brings you here?"

"i was gonna return your phonograph record, it was absolutely calming to listen to." hoseok pulled out a huge cd and handed it to here. "thanks for letting me borrow it, chaeng."

"no problem." she placed the cd on her desk filled with other antiques. "so, um, is that all you came here for?"

hoseok was a little taken aback. it sounded like she wanted to get rid of him, but instead to whining about it, he just nodded and smiled. "yeah, that's all." he stood up and grabbed his backpack. "i'll see you around, chaeng."

"yeah, see you around, hobi." chaeyoung smiled back and waved at him.

she closed the door and heaved out a sigh of relief. her back slid on the door until she landed on the floor. "he's gone now, jimin-"

"who is he?"

chaeyoung almost snapped her head to the right, seeing jimin staring at her, their faces only inches apart. she jumped back and groaned when she slammed her butt on the had floor.
