The sound of rain plays in the background as I rethink the past 7 years.

The happy moments but mostly the sad ones.

Sighing I finally get out of the car to go get my well needed bottle of alcohol.

Rain in the winter is beautiful but I don't enjoy freezing my ass off.

I walk into the store instantly heading for the wine section.

Red wine to be exact.

"Need help with anything?" A middle aged women asks me with a warm smile.

"No Thank you" I reply forcing a smile.

With that she politely walks away as I continue scavenging through multiple wine bottles to find one that's..nice?

"Drinking away your sorrows?" A familiar voice asks.

"Why do you care?" I reply.
"Aren't you meant to be taking care of our daughter?" I continue.

"She's with Mav in the car" He dismisses.
"Why don't you go join them?" I ask.

"Calm down, darling I just came to get Mils some snacks and saw you so I thought-" Mateo reasons.

"You thought you need to intrude on what I'm doing" I interrupt his sentence.

"You're making it sound worser than it is" Mateo frowns slightly.

I scoff lightly.

Fucking asshole.

I carefully grab the wine bottle and head towards the check out completely ignoring his presence.

"Don't drink too much" He suggests.

Ignoring that comment too, I just continue towards the checkout.

I hear him sigh faintly mumbling something under his breath.

"Is that it for today?" The lady from before asks.
"Yep" I reply.

I pay for the wine and exit the store being desperate to get into my car but also go home.

When I get home I hurriedly change into something comfortable and sit on my couch with a wine glass filled with red wine in one hand and a Book in the other hand.

Sipping the alcohol and trying to escape this world.

I love the way people in books fall in love.
Each in their unique way.

Even in children's movies.

For example tangled:
Rapunzel and Eugene got their happily ever after.

They suffered a lot but they had each other to rely on.

Me?
I don't have anyone.

Not a single soul.

Just books.
Paper.
Dead trees.
Ink on dead trees.
