Chapter 17
Blood Singer

WHEN EVERYONE ROSE AS the bell rang, Bella however, lingered for a few seconds, still watching the seemingly peculiar family. It was strange to her. They weren't all related yet they also looked like they did.

From their perfectly sculpted face, down to their graceful movements. It was unsettling to see how they looked so—perfect. Even the burly one, Emmett, all of them moved with such elegant composure.

They were like Gods.

"That's not possible." Bella thought in her head. She continued to watch as they all carried their trays. Specifically staring at one bronze-haired vampire.

And she could've sworn, she saw the other blonde's face, Anastasia she remembered, curl into a small smile. As if she heard what the young Swan said.

Before she knew it, the Cullens were gone and everyone at her table was cleaning up too. Bella soon followed what they did.

Next they had was Biology II. This time, Angela Webber was accompanying her to class. Their journey together was awkwardly quiet, Angela was shy too. A few minutes went by before they arrived to the classroom.

Angela went straight to her chair with her lab partner, all the tables were filled except one. The one on the center aisle, and there sat was none other than Edward Cullen.

Bella had her eyes on him as she continued to make her way beside the vampire. But the boy didn't even look at her direction once. The Swan noticed a detail a she went closer.

Just as she passed, The Cullen suddenly became rigid in his seat. This time, his eyes met hers. It wasn't nice or welcoming. Instead, he held a strange expression—it was hostile, furious even.

If Bella was crazy she'd think it look like he wanted to attack her. But she knew better—or did she? The pale girl stumbled a little as she was taken aback with the hostility.

What's even stranger was how he was clutching his nose tightly, his fist clenched tight. Bella couldn't help but discreetly smell her hair, Do I smell bad?

Then again, there was another detail that she noticed. His eyes were black—coal black. And she could've sworn that it wasn't that color before.

What the hell is happening?

Throughout the lesson, Edward remained the same. He never relaxed his stiff position. His hand gripped the edge of his seat tightly and it looked like it was about to break. At one point, he even looked like he wasn't breathing.

The class seemed to drag on longer than usual. When the bell rang loudly, Edward shot up his seat abruptly, hastily exiting the room.

The Swan girl couldn't help but stare at his retreating figure as she stayed rooted to her seat. All she though was how mean was the bronze-haired boy.
