Everyone has been through good and bad days and a bad day is like a domino effect, one block falls and each one will follow. It was Monday morning and I had just woken up as usual to get ready for school.

I hopped out of bed and went over to the bathroom to do my daily rituals. Within few minutes, I was out of the shower and was already on my outfit and ready to face the day.

Slipping my notes into my backpack and slinging the strap over my shoulder, I started towards the door when I felt the familiar twinge below my abdomen.

Shit!

I dashed back into the bathroom, taking off my skirt and underwear at once, I opened my drawer to retrieve a pack of my sanitaries as I cussed loudly in frustration.

Trust my period to show up on the very day I had an important test to write!

When I was done, I changed my outfit before heading downstairs. In the kitchen, I met Aidan by the stool eating from a bowl of cereal.

"Good morning," I greeted before picking an apple from the bowl of fruits; My appetite suddenly gone.

He groaned out a reply just as I rinsed the apple by the running faucet. I took a slow bite. Aidan was on his phone as I slung my backpack over the stool. I brought out the notepad on which I had jotted down some points for the test last night before I took a sit. Both of us eating in silence.

After a while, I looked around, "where's mom?"

"Work,"he replied taking the last scoop of cereal from his plate before he got up to rinse it at the sink. He walked over to the fridge to grab a bottled water.

"please can you pass me one?" I returned my gaze back to my note.

"Heads up Kid,"

I looked up just in time to see the bottle water already sailing through the air over to my direction. Shrieking, I scampered away from the stool.

Aidan's boisterous laughter travelled round the kitchen just as the water landed with a thud next to my note.

"Really Aidan, that was not funny," I shot him a glare retrieving my note pad and the bottle water.

"Oh c'mon,"He was by my side few seconds later pulling me close, I tried to shrug out of his grasp when he let out a loud belch, I shrieked away from him slapping his face with my note pad alongside.

He kept laughing and that got me even more irritated, "Moron," I hissed out, picking up my bag.

"I'm leaving," I announced slinging my bag over my shoulder.

"Without me?"He called out just as I began storming out of the scene.

"Screw you Aidan," I retorted, fuming with anger. I heard his annoying fits of laughter as I slammed the front door, marching past his car.

"See you later Kid", Aidan announced from the driver's seat as I got off few minutes later at the school's parking lot.

I ended up riding with him after all.. and only because he kept tailing after me with loud honks like a maniac.

Inside the hall, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the chatter of students and judging by how slow and busy everyone was it was going to be a stress filled Monday.

I don't want to be a pessimist but with the way my day has been playing out so far, I just knew.

Aimee had texted last night to inform me that she'll be skipping school today; according to her, she has a flu but I pretty much knew that she was only trying to avoid River.
