❝ We're parents now Way. She's ours now ❞

"So. What are you shopping for Rowen?" Brielle asked as she handed them there weapons from the trunk. "Diapers, wipes, bottles, formula, blankets, clothes, baby wash, baby hair wash, and I can't forget the pacifiers" Rowen stated remembering what she said that exact morning. "Good. Good. How about you Way?" Brielle asked him knowing he probably forgot by now, god he had a weird ass memory.
"Tampons, Fresh clothes, Blankets, Soap, and food for the winter" Wayland said and Brielle nodded, "you forgot the shampoo. But go go before it gets dark, I don't like being out after dark" Brielle basically shooed them away inside the store.

Lyra looked at Promise as she cried, "it's coming soon baby girl. I promise you" Lyra took off her jacket and grabbed the blanket from the floor of the car. She washed it just this morning, and she knew, it would be for something good soon, but she didn't know it would be so soon. Lyra placed Promise on her chest gently as she cried, she tied the blanket around promise and herself, she made it so it would hold her up. As she tied the knot of the bottom she used her jacket to secure it, "and there we go. See, nothing to fuss about right?" Lyra talked to Promise and she quiet down. Maybe she wanted skin to skin with someone, or for someone to speak to her like she was an actual human being. But what she did know, whatever she did calmed her down.

Lyra opened the car door and got out herself, "how did you do that?" Brielle asked her "sibling", "it wasn't so hard, just a wrap. I remember the cultured African ladies I used to catch the bus with used to hold there babies up like this. And I remembered how they did it. And tadaaa" Lyra pointed at Promise sleeping on her, Brielle smiled looking at Target, she wondered what the boys were doing.

"Okay. I have the bottles, Formula, diapers, wipes, pacifiers. What else am I missing" Rowen asked Wayland and Wayland looked at him. "You know I have a shit memory" Way told Ro and Rowen rubbed his head taking a minute to think. "Oh oh! It's baby wash and baby shampoo. But we need gallons of water for the formula. I'll go look in aisle 8" Rowen reversed his cart, "Alright. I'll be looking for blankets and soap. The clothes weren't so hard to find actually" Wayland told him as he walked throughout the aisles. He was surprised that it weren't many Flesh eaters down this way, but usually by this hour, it isn't. They usually go east by this time, more survivors down that way, meaning more meals for them.

"I have everything" Rowen walked  to Wayland after a few minutes and Wayland nodded, "I'm finished myself. Let's go. It's going to get dark soon" They both made their way to the exit but they started to see a few Flesh eaters coming there way. Lyra saw the two boys getting surrounded and Brielle and Lyra took the knives from their knife holders on there waist belt. Lyra charged to the two in front of Rowen and went for the instant kill. The head. As she stabbed the two in the head, she pulled her knives from the heads, Brielle on the other hand used the back of her gun to knock one to the ground. She lost her balance as the other grabbed her leg trying to bite it, Wayland used his axe to chop off his hand. But Rowen used his katana to slice the head clean off its body.

For the last Flesh eater, Wayland took a good swing at its head killing it. Lyra was out of breathe herself, she was holding a little human being on her body, trying to protect her and the child was in-fact hard. "Let's load it into the car. If it was those four. More are coming" Brielle said standing up, "are you hurt?" Lyra asked and Brielle shook her head. "No scratches. No bites. I'm good" she smiled and told the truth as she helped the boys load the stuff into the trunk of the car. Lyra helped with minor stuff but they made it quick and fast. Wayland took the keys from Brielle and got into the drivers seat, "I'm the faster driver. Let's not argue" he told her and Brielle closed her mouth and weirdly obeyed to his word.

"Brielle obeying to the second youngest. That's weird" Rowen got into the backseat and so did Lyra. Brielle opened the passenger seat door and got in herself, before she got to close her door, Wayland pulled off, the impact of the air made the door close on its own. "Rude" She sat back and rubbed her head, "sure" Wayland told her running a hand through his hair as he drove home.

It was a close call Rowen had to admit, it was always Fleshies, that's what he called em, but at that hour, never that much. He was worried. He was unsure how to try and make out his feelings, but he knew he didn't feel right.

As they pulled into the driveway of the home, Rowen looked at Wayland, "I'll open the fences" he told him and Wayland nodded. When they claimed his house as territory, they built it up from nothing. To something, every tear, every single thought, was put into it, Rowen got out of the car and unlocked the fence with the pin, as she slid it open he stepped out of the way letting Wayland drive the car through. He stepped in the fence and then closed it back and locked it back up. He ran up to the second fence and unlocked it, he moved out of the way once again letting the car through repeating what he did to that fence. To the one he's at.

"Okay. Let's start loading this into the house." Lyra said as she got out of the car, Rowen watched her as she got out. He had a huge crush on Lyra, since he first laid eyes onto her, he never knew what it was about her, maybe her looks, or her attitude, but everything about her made him go completely nuts. "You coming ginger?" Wayland asked as he carried bags of stuff into the house. "I'm coming" he looked away from Lyra and grabbed some bags, he grabbed a hand full and followed Wayland inside of the house. "If your going to eye fuck someone, I suggest you do it in a discreet manner?" Wayland told him as he placed the bags on the floor of the kitchen. "Me? No, I wouldn't" Rowen quickly defended himself and Wayland laughed, "by the looks of it, you were finishing her off."

Rowen cheeks turnt red as he turned his head, "is that beans? Yuck" Ro changed the conversation and Wayland laughed taking the bags from the girls hands putting them inside. They finished after 15 full minutes, Brielle is parking the car in the garage as of now, but Rowen thought about what Wayland said, he didn't think it was that noticeable. And as good as getting in Lyra sanders sounds, that wasn't his expectation with her. He wanted to love her. Grow old with her, even maybe have children with her. But with this pandemic, it doesn't seem possible, he hates how he's been around her for about eight months, and still find a way to stutter when he looks at her. "Hey Rowen? Can you put the last thing up for me? It's the bottles. I washed them a few minutes go. Put them in Promises cabinet?" Brielle asked as she washed the little child in the kitchens sink.

"Of course. No problem" Rowen said to Brielle as she opened promise new cabinet putting the stuff in. "Thanks" she smiled as she washed the soap off the child's pretty light tanned skin, "So what now?" Wayland asked as he handed Bri a towel for Promise, "we rest, we plant crops, and we figure out why all of a sudden the flesh eaters are on this side of town" Lyra said leaning against the door frame of the kitchen.
"Correct. But we a-a-also need to keep her safe." Rowen said referring to the new baby, "okay" Wayland said as he rolled his eyes, "We're parents now Way. She's ours now" Brielle ended the conversation.
