~schnappter 2~

The next few days were interestingly boring, the only topic people talked about was Noah, I kinda felt bad for him honestly, everyone treated him like some kind of trophy and bragged to the other schools about it, a whole lot of new students came to our school just to meet him, so many that the principal had to close all student applications, and no one treated Noah like an actual human being who was just like the rest of us. I really wanted to be his friend, not because he was a celebrity, but because he seemed really sweet and caring, and he was the only one who didn't laugh at me or make fun of me, but I just wasn't able to... I felt anxious whenever I was around him, and my heart would beat really fast, I didn't know why, since I didn't feel anything for him... hopefully.

At school the next day

I looked for Becca everywhere, but I couldn't find her and it was getting late, so I was grabbing some stuff from my locker when I noticed... Noah was right next to me! At this point everyone calmed down a lot so there weren't any crowds following him, that's why I didn't notice him before! I was freaking out yet again, and when he noticed I was staring at him with my eyes wide open, he let out an embarrassed smile and said "hey". My heart skipped a beat, THE Noah Schnapp now knew that I existed, I didn't know what to do, but since I wanted to treat him like a human being I replied with an awkward smile and said "Oh hi, uh-we uh- locker neighbours?" I didn't even know what I was thinking when I said that, I'm a complete idiot! He must think I'm a weird nobody! What have I done?! I quickly looked away and pretended to search something in my locker, when I looked at him again I was completely astonished to find him staring at me... he was definitely still thinking about how weird I was, but I didn't want to make anything even more awkward and I wanted to seem decent, if not quite likeable, so I snapped my fingers "Hello? Is anyone home?" I chuckled

NOAH'S POV

I was looking at the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, something about her just felt so attractive... maybe it was the fact that she didn't ask for a photo or an autograph right away? And she... she's my locker neighbour? Whatever that means since she made that up... but it's a cute word! Suddenly I returned to my senses as she snapped her fingers "Hello? Is anyone home?" She said in an angelic voice, gosh, why is she so perfect?!

But wait, I am an idiot! I kept glaring at her! She must think I'm super weird, what have I done?!

OLIVIA'S POV

He let out a soft chuckle, and then he left to go to class. I surprisingly think I pulled it off quite good, considering how socially awkward I am. I head to class as well, and I still couldn't find Becca, but the only thing I was thinking about was me and Noah's encounter. I was thinking about it so much that I almost didn't realize that he was sitting right beside me! Now tell me about luck! What a pleasant coincidence! I had to try my best to impress him. I could feel my face burning and my heart beating worse than an earthquake, but I HAD to pretend to be interested in the lesson, or else Noah would've known I was freaking out, I'm such an overthinker, I thought, so I tried to not think so much and act more casual

Mrs Davies announced to the class that we were gonna be doing a science project in PAIRS, the teacher went through all the pairs until there were only three people left: Me, Alyssa and Noah, then the teacher said "Pair #11: Noah and... I was freaking out as if it was a reality show and my fate was being decided... I held my breath... Alyssa. And Olivia, you're gonna have to work alone I'm afraid." I quickly said it was alright, and even though I was frustrated because Alyssa gets to have Noah as her partner while I'm all alone, I looked to the bright side, at least I didn't have to work with Alyssa! Plus, I was lucky that day, but nothing, not even luck could get me paired up with Noah in a science project!

I went home and texted Becca about what happened, I was waiting all day to tell her! But sadly, she didn't respond to my texts or calls. "Something's wrong, Becca never ignores me" I said to myself, it just didn't feel right.

I waited for a few hours (still no sign of Becca) so I decided to go her house to find out what made her dissappear. Instead of an always-smiling Becca, I was greeted by her mum.

"Oh hey there sweetie! I haven't seen you in a while! How are you?" She said with a warm voice

"Hi! I'm sorry for disturbing you at this time, and I'm fine, I was just really worried since Rebecca didn't show up to school today, is everything alright?" I asked eagerly

"Aww, thanks for being so concerned dear, but don't worry, she's alright! She said she had a headache this morning so I didn't send her to school, but when she felt a little better she decided to go for a little walk around town, I'm sorry to have worried you!"

"Oh no it's totally fine! I'm just happy to know she's alive! What happened to her phone?" I laughed

"She left her phone at home, but I think she's gonna be home by 7 pm, you can wait in her room if you want, and have dinner with us!"

"Thank you so much, but I'm kinda in a hurry, and I'm so sorry I showed up without any notice!"

"It's alright honey, I'm just happy to know how caring and lovely you are about Rebecca! See you soon then!"

"See you Mrs Smith!" As I was cycling back home, I though about how weird it was that Becca left without her phone and without texting me, she sure was up to something, but I hoped I was wrong as I didn't want her getting in any trouble
