Chapter 9

After filling up his stomach with breakfast, Y/N had to leave for "business". Jean had already inform him about their progress on the tears to keep him in the loop and had asked for him to not overworked himself which got him to sweat drop and nodded. Currently, he is walking in the street as he was practically forced out of the Knights of Favonius HQ due to his subordinates saying that he deserved some rest. Of course, he could've sneak inside but decides to go for a walk. As he was walking in the street, the locals greeted him with respect which he did the same. His mind drifted to a moment

Flashback

Y/N was at the front door ready to leave but Frederica had something to say to him before he left

Frederica: Be sure to tell me when you're going to marry Jean, I'll have the wedding planned and be sure to come and visit your soon to be mother-in-law

She said with a smile as Jean look at her with a red face that kinda resembles like a tomato

Jean: Mother?! Why are you saying so casual to him!

She was embarrassed that her mother had to say that to her boyfriend. However, something else shocked her

You: Because she will be my mother-in-law, Jean. It is only natural for her to ask me that

Jean look at him shocked hearing the words that comes out of Y/N's mouth behind that mask of his

Frederica: Listen to your boyfriend, Jean. Oh, he'll be such a good son-in-law when you two marry each other

She then look at her mother shocked by her words. She could sense genuine happiness radiating from her aura especially since she is smiling with her eyes closed and hands clasped together

Jean: You two are in on this together!

Flashback Ends

Y/N chuckled at the memory and letting his feet drag him somewhere which was in front of the Adventures Guild. Suddenly he could hear the sounds of crashing, chickens, cats and more inside as a bottle rolls out towards his feet

You: (...Must be an interesting bunch)

He picks up the bottle and throws it at the nearest trashcan which lands inside perfectly causing some people who had witnessed it were shocked. He walks outside of the gates as he greeted the guards before travelling up north

Timeskip

Y/N is now seen walking around Stormbearer Mountains. He honestly want to be alone for a few moments before going back to Mondstadt. He felt the gentle breeze of the wind hitting his face as bird chirping happily. It was peaceful until he heard shots fired by a gun to his left that caused him to look at the direction

You: Fatui...

He started dashing towards the source of the gunshot using his Electro power to increase his speed. A few seconds later, he arrives just in time to see the Fatui Pyro Gunslinger gets slashed by a claymore

You: Well, well, well, you really outdid yourself, Eula

The person who was holding the claymore turn to him and revealed to be Eula looking at him surprised to see the Vice Commander here of all places. Around her are dead bodies of Fatui soldiers

Eula: Vice Commander? What are you doing out here far away from Mondstadt?

She said as she stabs her claymore on the ground and disappeared before walking up to him. Y/N look around the area and whistle impressed by her abilities on taking on the amount of Fatui on the ground

You: I've decided to take a "leave" so...here I am now taking a walk away from the city. I see that you've been busy yourself with the Fatui

She nodded seemingly understanding the first part along with saying "yes" to the second
