"Hey, son! Nice of you to call. Just remembered you had a father again, huh?" Akihiro, Ako's father, joked with him when he answered his son's phone call. Ako scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Hey, dad. How're things going?"

"Good! Good. I'm just relaxing a little, taking a day off. Getting bored watching documentaries on TV." He answered with a chuckle.

"Sounds nice. Anything good?" Ako asked.

"Ahh, there's one about All Might, another about different dictators in history, stuff like that. I can send you the names if you're interested." Akihiro offered.

"That sounds interesting actually, sure. Send me both."

"Sure. So! How're things at UA now that you're in the hero course? You still got all of your teeth?" His father asked.

"So far. I'm actually doing an internship this week at the Ryukyu Agency. I'm on my way there now for my first patrol." Ako revealed.

"Ooh! That's exciting! Ryukyu is very beautiful. You should make a good impression with her."

"Dad." Ako rolled his eyes again.

"What? She's still single! It's always good to have a backup plan in case things don't work out, you know?" Akihiro said. Ako laughed at this.

"Oh boy. Anyways, the internship program actually got me wondering: do you have any interns?" He asked curiously.

"Me? No I don't, actually. All of that requires a certain amount of paperwork, and I'm doing my best to keep my identity relatively a secret." His father explained. Ako's eyebrows furrowed a little and he nodded.

"Yeah. I gotcha. Do they require you to put your name in the paperwork?"

"I believe so. I haven't actually looked into it that deeply. Were you thinking about interning with me?"

"I thought about it yeah, but Mr. Aizawa made it pretty clear that we had to choose from the list we were given. I didn't get a chance to ask you about it." Ako explained.

"Oh I see. Sorry, son. You wouldn't have been able to intern with me anyways since I don't have the proper paperwork submitted. But I'll look into it. If I can register without having to reveal my identity then I'll go ahead and do it so you can work with me next time, okay?"

"Yeah, that'd be great! If it's not too much trouble. You don't have to do all that just for me either." Ako said with a chuckle.

"And miss the chance to help you become a pro hero? Forget it! I'm having June pull up the documents right now." Akihiro said with a laugh.

"Haha, alright...thank you dad. I'm at my stop now so I'll have to talk to you later. I'll let you know how it goes today. Love you."

"Love you too, son! Have a good day. And remember to stay focused!"

"I will. Bye." Ako said before hanging up the phone and sliding it back into his pocket...

"You know, I really wish I had listened to him better that day. Seems like I'm always finding new ways to make a fool of myself."

That day, both Ako and Aya were paired with Kansan Hiraoka, a pro hero with spiky yellow hair. He possessed the ability to make portals for his quirk, but only two at a time. He wore casual clothes and a long flowing jacket. Aya was dressed in her full hero gear. Meanwhile, Ako had on workout clothes, his boots, and a track jacket.

"So when it comes to an average day in the life of a pro hero, you're gonna find that more often than not you'll be patrolling the streets of whatever city or district you're registered in. So let me pose this question to you two: what are the benefits to having so many pro heroes patrolling?" Kansan asked.
