Gru paced back and forth, his shoes tapping on the marble floors of the restaurant. Today was the day, the day he finally proposed to Vecna. They have been together for 3 years now and he has decided that he is ready to take the next step in their relationship
He asked Vecna a few hours before to dress nicely, and meet him at a fancy restaurant downtown. It was expensive and had a nice few from the balcony, and that balcony was the place he was going to pop the question
Gru had decorated the place gorgeously, rose petals were scattered everywhere and the lit candles gave the place a cosy feeling. The bald man adjusts the tie on his suit and makes some changes to the decor as he nervously waits for his soon to be husband
Finally, after what felt like years to Gru, Vecna arrived. Gru's eyes widen at how handsome he looked, the veins on his head were slicked back more and the suit he was wearing hugged his curves beautifully. "You look...absolutely stunning" Gru says blushing
Vecna giggles, blushing as well, "You don't look to bad yourself" He walks over and gives Gru a kiss. Gru goes behind Vecna and pulls out his chair, Vecna thanks him and sits down. Gru sits at the other end of the table. "So Gru" Vecna starts "What's all this for?"
Gru looks at him confused "What do you mean?" Vecna laughs "You only plan dates when it's a special occasion, like our anniversary, but as far as i know it's not our anniversary today" Gru turns flustered, quickly denying his boyfriend's words
"That's not true! I plan dates all the time!" Vecna raises an eyebrow (or at least what he has left of one). Gru huffs in defeat "Fine, i admit, you're the one who does most of the planning" Red man stares at his boyfriend with a smug expression
Gru rolls his eyes and pours himself and Vecna a glass of wine. They cheers and take a sip of the wine "Actually, there's something i want to ask you" Vecna puts down his glass and looks at Gru confused. "What is it?"
Gru takes Vecna's hands and makes him stand up. He leads him over to the railing and shakily exhales "Vecna Creel" he starts off, and gets down on one knee. Vecna gasps and puts a hand over his chest "Gru-"
"When i forts laid eyes on you in Starbucks i knew you were the man for me. And when we had the date in Sports Direct i was sure the universe wanted us to be together" A tear slides down Vecna's cheek "You're my soulmate and i cant wait to spend the rest of my life with you"
He gets the ring out of his pocket "I love you so much Veccie, so, would you like to marry me?" He finishes. Vecna starts sobbing fully now, "Of course!!" He says and pulls Gru up from the ground into a hug. They pull away and kiss passionately
"I'll love you till the end of time Gru" Vecna whispers, his forehead leaning against his fiancée's. Gru smiles "I love you too my Veccie" Suddenly, they hear the sound of footsteps running towards them
"Woo!!" Margot, Edith and Agnes shout as they run onto the balcony. They give their father's a big hug and congratulate them on their engagement. "I cant wait for us to be a big family" Agnes says. The other girls agree. "Yes Agnes, i cant wait" Gru says, a loving look on his face as he stares at his new family
