"Clubs? Is it necessary Miss Jean?" Aether asked his teacher "well technically it's not necessary but I thought you'd find it interesting" She said flipping through some files "Hmm I'll think about it" Aether says as he bowed and gets out of her teacher's office

He decided to check out the school clubs to see if He finds something that will catch his interestHe went to the dance club first. The club was full of boys and girls. He couldn't help but stare at them. Most were older than him or younger. He felt uncomfortable staring at so many people. Then again it could be worse they could be looking at him.

He immediately goes out the door and checks out the volleyball club it was too tiring for Aether yes he had a lot of stamina but team cooperation isn't really one of aethers talentsAether sighs as he checks almost every single club yet the clubs are either too boring or need team cooperation it's not really his sort of taste

As he walked through the hallway Aether saw a room he'd never seen before, it has the label "Music club" Aether to himselfIt looks like someone's in charge of these music clubs there must be a reason why other people haven't used this room. It was odd

Aether slowly approaches the door, hesitating slightly to take the handle in his hand but when he does he opens the door gentlyInside Aether notices several boys playing instruments, he then realized it was his classmate's xiao, venti, kazuha and heizou

"ah- were you recording? apologies I'll be leaving" Aether mumbled as he leaves however just before he go through the door he was grabbed by heizou and the door was closed"no no, stay!!" Heizou says while happily clinging to aether to make kazuha and xiao jealous "Oya? are you interested in joining the club??" Venti asked

"I mean...maybe,," Aether said, he has a lovely voice so he's a good singer Cross also had taught him how to use an electric guitar but it was just the basics he couldn't rival crosses skill

Flashback

Cross sighed as he placed downed the electric guitar he had just finished playing and aether was amazed "amazing..." Aether says looking up at Cross in aweCross gives a small smile as he sits down next to Aether, he can't help but admire Aether "for some odd reason I can't seem to grasp my way with the guitar.....I've learned other instruments like the piano the drums and the violin but somehow the guitar was the one I can't learn!" Aether said in frustration

"Well, I could always teach you," Cross says as aether looks shocked "wait really?" Aether asked as Cross nodded in response

"Sure! now let's start with your vocal cords" Cross said and he began explaining the proper chords for each note he sang "your fingers have to feel right before they get the correct shape! You need to move your finger so that the right position is there, you need to bend your wrist so that it doesn't hurt and you need to make sure that the notes are clear"Aether nods understanding everything Cross says"And remember this: you don't have to play it perfectly you need to know what it sounds like," Cross said and aether nodded again agreeing entirely with the song's idea

Flashback ends

"well we could really use a vocalist right now seeing as venti needed to rest his voice so his playing the piano," kazuha said while pulling heizou away"I play the electric guitar, xiao plays the bass and heizou here plays the flute" Kazuha explained again

"well I can mostly play every instrument but I'm more experienced with a violin and I guess I'm confident with my singing" Aether said"Ohh sample! sample!" Heizou shouted ".....erm sure I guess," Aether said as he goes into the recording area and grabs the mic"whenever you're ready," Xiao says, Aether nods as Xiao played the recorder

"......Suddenly, you're nowhere to be found" Aether starts "I turn around and everything has changed" he paused as he looked at their reaction, Venti was looking like he just heard an angel sing, Xiao was for some reason blushing, Kazuha and Heizou had stopped fighting and as mesmerized

"Looking for a way to work it out" Aether Continued "I'm trying to find some peace to navigate" he sang "The oak tree where I met you And the writing on the statue, I still remember every word you said" he sang "I'm not a soldier but I'm fighting Can you hear me through the silence? I won't give up 'cause there will be a day...." Aether stopped "We'll meet again..." He ends the song with a sigh

There was absolute silence for a few minutes after Aether sang the final notes, then everyone burst into applause and cheers "wow" Xiao said"that sounded so good Aether" Heizou complimented"yeah!" Venti agreed to smile as she stood up "it definitely fits Aether!" He added excitedlyAfter that Aether spent the whole afternoon practicing his part in the bandIn the following days, Aether kept practicing, though he wasn't as confident as before it felt good to have a purpose
