You gasped for air as you shot up from your position and a hand almost immediately shot to your chest, feeling for any signs of life. You were able to feel your own heart beating with life once again, as you looked down you saw no entry wound. You were flabbergasted, the last thing you remember was colliding with a Toppled over street lamp and the pole had shot through the car window and right into your chest with ease. You took a deep breath as you observed your surroundings, you were in some sort of dark void with a purple mist all around, along with a shadowy figure just ahead. You backed up as you suddenly bumped into something else, turning around you saw that it was a man unconscious on the ground.

The man had on a grey vest with a white button up shirt underneath and black dress pants and shoes, and brown hair that had a color similar to worn leather. The man then grunted as he pushed himself up and muttered, "Ugh... the hell is going on?" Then an old females voice cut the silence as the two of you briefly looked at each other before turning to the shillouete, "Oh! Another two. How nice to have some company again."

A light from nowhere then appeared and revealed the rather tall woman with a collared open windowed black dress with a purple jeweled necklace and bright white messy hair. She motioned to the two of you and spoke in the same voice, "Come over here. Let's have a look at you..." You sat there still in shock over what had just happened, the woman and the man noticing this and the woman said in a calm manner, "Oh don't be frightened child. I know you've been through a lot."

She then turned to the man and said, "You dissapoint me love. You really do... So many fears... So many desires... I thought you'd be bigger." You slowly stood up as you heard the man growl and march over to the woman with you slowly following behind. It looked like the man was about to say something before the woman spoke again, "Don't look so confused... I know everything you've got hidden in that brain of yours. I know all the terrible things you've done. So many good intentions laid to waste... I can see the regret, eating away at your soul..."

After hearing that you proceeded to take one huge step away from the man who was clenching his fists to the point his knuckles turned white before he slumped his shoulders and turned away. The woman then chortled and said, "Hah! But now your time has come and here you are, to grovel and beg." You got a large sense of mixed feelings being thrown in between the two to the point you didn't even feel like you were apart of the conversation anymore, if you ever were. The man began to walk away before the woman spoke up again, "You can't go back... Only death awaits you there now."

Now it was your turn to slump you shoulders as the realization that you likely were already dead hit you rather hard. The woman then knelt down to you and said to the both of you, "Fear not love, the two of you've got potential! I can see it in you, and I can help change your fate. But if the two of you want a new life, you're going to have to suffer quite a bit to get it." The man then turned around and you peaked up, a chance to return to the living world seemed like too much of an opportunity to pass up. You turned to the woman as the man returned to his previous standing point. The area then seemed to shift and change into an as elegant ballroom in some sort of limbo.

"Alow me to introduce myself, you may call me Bierce." The woman said as she stepped next to one of many pillars on the edge of the room, "Although I know your names already. I would like to hear you say them, if you please." The man crossed his arms as he said, "Doug. Doug Houser." You then fiddled with your fingers as you meekly stuttered, "I-I'm (Your/Name). Nice to meet you Bierce. What do we have to do?" She nodded and gestured to the statue as she began explaining, "The pieces to a powerful ring are hidden in nightmares behind each of these portals. Find them, and bring them to me... and you'll get your wish. Fail, and you'll find fates much worse then death awating you here."

You observed the many portals that surrounded the room, many of them had lock images on them and were grey, but one suddenly combusted and was now a bright violent red with the image of some sort of monkey with sharp teeth and a wet lower jaw in the center of it. Bierce turned to Doug and said, "Clocks Ticking..." He sighed and turned to you saying, "You comin' with kid?" You lightly jumped and nodded as he walked through the portal. But before you went through you heard Bierce say, "Good Luck and Be Careful."
