I covered both of my ears with my hands, gritting my teeth. What the heck is going on out there?

Looking through the window, I saw a bunch of people pounding on each door, yelling at them to get out of their houses. A few of them went into the empty houses like they were searching for something or possibly someone. I squinted my eyes to help me see better from a distance. Most of them were wearing short sleeves and they had tattoos on their arms.

I scanned them one by one. There were lion, dragon, tiger, serpent, and wolf. They must be the other gangs looking for me, I knew it.

Then, a dragon member punched a lion member from behind and they started fighting against each other. In a few seconds, they used knives to kill other gangs. It was brutal. Innocent people standing outside under the rain were killed because of their chaos.

It was my chance to escape. I ran to the back door in the kitchen and twisted the doorknob. But it was stuck. At that time, someone kicked the door opened and yelled for me to come out.

It was a good thing the kitchen was far away from the front door. I didn't have any choice but to kick the door down. After a few tries, the door burst open and I ran out of there.

"There she is! Get the lions now! We're not losing her again."

Without looking back, I picked up my pace. I didn't care about the thunderstorm because my goal was to escape from Sy Cove.

The chaos made it easier for me because they paid attention to the fight and not me. I had to worry about the lion gang for seeing me just now. I ran across the street and suddenly a blinding light approached me from my right, hitting me. My entire body flew and landed far away from the vehicle. With rain hitting my body and face, my temperature dropped. My vision started to double, then everything went dark.

The next thing I knew, I woke up with a sharp pain in my head. Like someone stabbed my brain from the inside. I hissed in pain as I touched it. What happened?

A stench went into my nose. Honestly, it annoyed me. I looked to my left and saw a corpse with maggots coming out of its eye sockets. The skin burst open in many places. I almost gagged seeing that.

Suddenly, a person wearing a mask, covering their face stepped inside. I could tell it was a guy because of the physique. He wore all black, covering himself from head to toe. It reminded me of that guy I saw a few times. I thought it was all in my head.

"Who are you?" my voice was deeper than usual.

Because of the mask, I couldn't tell what he looked like. He took out a book and threw it on top of me, hitting my stomach. Shooting a death glare at him, I opened it and recognized the handwriting right away. It belonged to me; my diary when I was younger.

I lost that diary on that traumatic night. I wondered who could've taken it but I remembered someone who was in her house that night. A boy who was innocent, or at least that's what I thought.
