I continued reading. An odd thing did happen while I was months 8 pregnant with you Jo. Your father and I were having a rare argument in the kitchen. I can't remember how it even started but I remember the subject: How to properly load the dishwasher. "Knives down," Dad demanded. I thought since I worked in the kitchen 99% of the time I should be able to load the silverware however I pleased. (Silly right?) I argued, "Knives up so they'll clean properly!" He retorted, "Knives down so we don't cut ourselves." I replied a bit louder, "I'm a grown up Reggie! I'm not gonna cut myself!" He raised his voice. "You have pregnancy brain fog! You might forget! You burned the chocolate cookies yesterday? Or did you forget that too?" I burst out in tears and suddenly I'd been transported to the white rocking chair in your nursery and you were in my arms. The radio station played classic Rock n' Roll. I always had it on 99.1 Christian Radio but that day it changed. You changed it Jo. After that episode I thought maybe your father was right. Maybe I did have brain fog? But as I watched you grow up I understood. You moved us that day. Thankfully it never happened while you were a toddler. At least I don't think it did. Ask your father. He may have a few Jo tales of his own.
