(One week timeskip)

*Magnus's pov* 

As night falls the blue haze of day lifts to reveal the glittering stars shimmering on the sooty sky.It is 2:00 in the morning and I lay wide awake,unable to sleep.I have been tossing and turning for ages and I am so bored.That's when I get a call 

"Hey Magnus."Dan says in a hushed tone 

"Dan?What are you doing? It's 2:00 in the morning... go back to sleep."I reply

"I can't sleep."Dan mentions 

"Me neither," 

"Actually, I'm calling because I can't sleep because I'm hungry.The local pizza joint isn't open at 2:00 sadly." Dan explains,I laugh

"Can't you just eat at home?"

"I mean... I could but it's risky," Dan says

"Isn't sneaking out at 2:00 risky?" I ask

"Yeah...but they won't find out. Anyways,do you know any places to eat?I'm starviiiiing!" Dan complains

"Hmmm...Yeah I do,meet me outside the park"I mumble 

*Dan's pov* 

I hastily change out of my pajamas and slip on my red jacket and put on my shoes.I grab the key and insert it in the hole and twist it until it gives a satisfactory click.I hope my parents don't find out.I'm glad Magnus is coming with me, it's not safe to be doing this.

But I'm so hungry!!! 

The lamps illuminate the street shrouded in shadows.It's pretty creepy...walking around by myself so early in the morning. 

Outside the park,leaning against a lamp post is Magnus.He turns his head as I approach. 

"Hey Dan." 

"Hey Mag-" 

I feel my feet slip on something and just as I think I'm about to land face first on concrete,Magnus steps forward and warps his arms around me.Saving me from falling.And it's as if, 

Time slows down... 

I bury my head in his chest it's so warm.I feel warm and fuzzy inside,like something I've never felt before.I bury my head in his chest and feel his heartbeat.

Dum Dum Dum and then it quickens .He's so...close to me.

My heart flutters and I feel my pulse quicken.I squeeze my eyelids shut tight,and pray Magnus never let's go. 

"Pffft...I never knew you were so clumsy,Dan Kouzo."He teases 

I look up at him.The lamp makes his persian red eyes glow.He's smiling and it looks like a real,genuine smile.And he's still holding on to me.

"I-I'm not clumsy! It's just so dark!"I ramble 

"Hmm!Anyways,come on it's not safe to be out this early."Magnus warns   

He leads me to the burger joint and my mouth literally waters. 

"Yummm!Food!" I exclaim 

I place an order and try to stay calm while waiting. 

"Hey Dan,thanks for throwing me that birthday party a week ago."He says 

"Hey, don't sweat it! That's just what friends do!"I reply 

Magnus's eyebrows go up. 

I collect my order and shove the food down my throat. 

"Carefull,Dan Kouzo.You might choke"Magnus laughs 

"Don't worry about it!I never do!"I say in between mouthfuls .I finish and Magnus asks, 

"Ready to pay?" 

"Huh???Ugh,I forgot to bring some money!"Dan yells 

"Don't worry...I should have some."He says while fishing through his hoodie pocket 

He goes up to the till and pays 

"So,how much do I owe you?"I ask 

"Don't worry about it Dan,but you should go home it's really early and you parents could wake up at any moment."Magnus advises 

"Okay."  

We walk out together in silence. 

"Bye Magnus!" 

"Bye Dan." 

I walk away and I allow myself a secret smile.
