The feeling of wind blew through my hair as I leaped from tree to tree. Traveling through the Country of Fire was usually safer than most, but that didn't mean I could keep my guard down. Especially since I was after one of the most dangerous people.

I caught wind that his next target was in Konohagakure. The famous Leaf Village. I had no qualms with any Village except my own. When I was young I trained in Iwagakure during the last shinobi war. My companions saw me as weak. I guess I understand. I'm not good at interrogation and communication, which made me a burden and liability.

It wasn't my fault I was....mute.

I wasn't sure how I became mute. My parents died before I could get any answers. We had our own way of communication. We had hand signs almost like how people do ninjutsu. However, that also meant the only people I could communicate with were my parents.

I assumed my muteness was due to some illness that grew. That didn't stop me from becoming a shinobi. It was a dream. It wasn't like talking was a requirement as long as your skill spoke for you.

I was never given a squad due to the war. I was always just paired with older ninja and they never really helped me. I had to study on my own and train constantly. After the war I was confident enough in my skill to leave my Village and live my own life. I hunted dangerous people who would prey on others.

I was an earth user, which makes sense considering where I'm from. The Land of Earth. I could also do some wind techniques but not a ton.

However, I knew it wouldn't be enough to take the ninja I was tracking. He was no ordinary ninja after all being apart of the legendary Sannin.

Orochimaru

I wasn't planning on making it out alive this time. I was hoping I would at least be able to stall for others.

Though, I heard rumors that the Chunin exams were currently going on. That would mean it would be a smart time to attack since so many would be focused on the exams.

I sat down on a branch and let out an exhale. The village could also be on edge now if he's already infiltrated the village. How would I get in without looking suspicious?

There's no way I can just walk through the gates and not be questioned. I could tunnel from a ways away possibly? But that would be a pain.

Hmmmmm

I put a hand on my chin and thought about it for awhile. Leaf Shinobi are notably very strong but also kind and empathetic.

If I appeared injured....maybe they would feel more trusting towards me.

I stared at the ground and then glanced at the branch I sat on. I sighed. Well, let's hope they don't try to keep me in a hospital so I can take a look around.

I pulled my black hair back into a tail and took off my mask that covered my mouth. I'm sure I'd seem less threatening if I didn't try to conceal myself as if I had something to hide.

I did a few hand signs and used wind to cut the limb, causing me to fall. I didn't brace much and I immediately felt something move when I hit the ground. I probably just dislocated my shoulder and I felt some liquid on my head. I probably nicked it on the way down.

Let's hope this goes well.

I winced when I sat back up and clutched my shoulder. I can't believe I'm this stupid and willing to harm myself in order to investigate some guy who will end up killing me.

I guess I get an A for effort.

I stuck my tongue out and began to walk thr rest of the way to the village. I spotted the gates from not too far down the road. They were decently high and big, so it made sense I could see them from afar.

I approached and as I walked into the gates I heard someone call out.

"Oi! What's your reason for visiting?"

I looked over and saw two guys. One had spiky, dark hair with a bandage over his nose and the other had brown hair covering one of his eyes.

I turned to them and approached.

"Uh...Hello?" The spiky haired one said.

I gave a wave and then pointed to my shoulder and then my head.

"Oh my God, she's hurt! Kotetsu do something!" The brown hair one yelled.

"Why always me!" Kotetsu defended.

After their argument ended, Izumo, if I remember correctly, escorted me to the hospital. A nurse took me to a room which I sat and waited in for awhile. I kicked my legs a bit and glanced around at the pristine walls and clean floor.

Soon the door opened and a woman with short, brown hair and lime green eyes walked in.

"Hi! My name is Kira Hatake. I was told you were found at the entrance of the village injured," she said.

I nodded and she wrote something down.

"Do you know what happened Where? Where are your injuries more prominent?" She questioned.

I pointed to my shoulder and then to my head. She examined my head, most likely seeing a cut of sorts and then checked my shoulder.

"It's definitely dislocated. Nothing too serious. I may keep you over night in case you have a concussion," she said and my eyes widened.

I shook my head and she let out a huff.

"I'm the medic here. It's one night," she responded.

I narrowed eyes and gave in. I would've shrugged but I don't think I wanted to move my shoulders.

"I can reset your shoulder and heal your cut. Then you can rest. Can I have a name?" Kira asked.

I stared at her for awhile and then glanced at her clipboard. I held up my hand and moved in as if I was writing before pointing to her clipboard.

She gave me an odd look and then handed me the clipboard and pen. I then wrote down my name and handed it back.

"Shizura."

I nodded in response.

"Nice to meet you and welcome to Konoha."
