We arrived to the Hidden Grass Village and successfully delivered the documents. I gazed around the area. It had been forever since I visited the Land of Grass. There have only been two instances, well now three.
"You've been here before. Right?" Kakashi responded. "Since you were a shinobi from the Stone Village."
I nodded and put up two fingers.
"Twice huh," he said. "It's been about fourteen years since I've been near here."
Fourteen years ago...I was near here as well. All that time ago, that was during the last war.
"We should go back. We'll be able to make it back by nightfall," Kakashi said.
I nodded and followed after him as we raced back to the village. It was quiet on the way back. I didn't mind it, but part of me felt off. If he was a Leaf Shinobi near the Grass Village back during the war...does that mean...No...
Suddenly, Kakashi halted and I stopped my movement as well.
"Go back to Village. There's something I need to see," he said before disappearing.
I stood there confused but then just headed back to the village. I'd gotten there around sunset. I went to report in to Lady Tsunade but no one was there. I went to the hospital and basically saw Kira scolding Lee. I noticed there were Sand Ninja as well and many people were on high alert. I walked over to Kira and lightly tapped her shoulder.
"Shizura," she said, surprised by my presence.
I gave her a confused look and gestured around me.
"Oh...Sasuke left the village," Kira said sadly. "Naruto and many of his friends followed after. There's been no sign of Naruto yet."
I lightly patted her shoulder and soon enough Kakashi walked in, carrying a passed out Naruto. Kira raced over and took Naruto from him before racing off. I watched sadly. This meant, they weren't able to get Sasuke then. I looked over to Kakashi, who seemed a bit saddened by the situation. It made sense since one of his students has now disappeared.
I went and stood beside him, so he wouldn't be alone. I glanced up at him and his head was still downcast. I lightly tugged on his sleeve and his visible eye looked to me. I then did a few hand signs.
'You okay?'
He seemed slightly amused, but then did the hand sign for 'no.'
I felt bad and just held onto his sleeve, in an attempt to conform him. I didn't want to cross any boundaries since we didn't know each other too well, but I didn't want him to feel alone.
Days passed and all the younger shinobi in the leaf got better. They had all survived their injuries and I was glad. Kira and Gai always talked so highly of all the teams.
I started doing more missions and was making more money. I had almost enough saved to get my own place now. I would still help around the apartnent since I felt bad I was living there rent free.
Today I didn't have any missions and was home alone...with a white wolf. Apparently, the white wolf is Kira's companion. Honestly, I shouldn't be surprised she has a wolf as a pet of sorts. However, he was pretty docile and just lazed around. He was also very fluffy. I was tempted to pet him, but didn't feel it would be right. The reason the wolf, Daiko, hasn't been around is because he decides whenever he wants to hang out around here. I think he's basically living the ideal life since he's doing whatever he wants.
Can't believe I'm jealous of a wolf.
There was a knock at the door and Daiko immediately got up. His ears were perked as he walked to the door. I just followed and looked to see Daiko patiently waiting for me me to open the door for him. I smiled and went over, opening the door.
