Chapter 15 ~ Graduation Day

A couple of Years Later....

"El come on you've got to get up". Max laughed. "Come on. 5 more minutes". Max grabbed the girl. The girls graduation robes were hanging on the door. "Fine". Max went to the bathroom. "Remember Robin is picking us up in 30 mins".

The got their robes on. Robin saw the pair. Vickie was on her arm. "Aww my baby gays have grown up so fast". Vickie laughed. "Don't tell me you've got a camera?" El groaned. "The more important fact is these two idiots came from college to be here". Max laughed. She put her arm around Eleven. "Come on the boys are waiting".

They arrived and Will was on Mikes arm. Lucas and Dustin hugged the girls. "We are graduating!" Dustin hugged El. "And you still have teeth". El giggled. Steve walked towards Dustin with hairspray. "Oh god". Dustin hid behind Lucas. "Henderson watch your hair". El and Max held hands. "Can I tell you something?" Max smirked. "Anytime". El whispered in her ear. Max blushed. "If you asked 15 year old me would I think I would ever get the girl of my dreams. I would've thrown you off a cliff". El laughed. "Always so violent. I love it". El smiled. "Love birds. We've gotta go". Lucas shouted.

They all sat down and smiled. Steve was a proud parent. Robin was a proud best friend. Eddie was happy that he got to see a graduation. Everyone was finally called up and everything was done. Then the words. "Congratulations Seniors! You did it". Everyone cheered. "We did it!" Max hugged El tightly. Everyone headed back to Mike's house. There was a party. Everyone was happy. People were getting photos of the group. El hugged Hopper and Joyce. El sat on the couch with Max's arm around her. Max was talking to some people Eleven hadn't met before. El walked to the kitchen. Max followed her. "So how about we go back to yours in 2 minutes". El whispered. Max blushed and smirked. "You've gotten too much practice". El was confused. "On what?" She asked. "What to say to get me to whatever you want". Max smirked. "I'll meet you outside in exactly 30 seconds". El walked past. Max blushed. She gathered herself and headed to the door. Hopper stood between Max and the door. She jumped out of her skin.

"Jesus! Hi Jim? How are you?" Maxs voice was higher pitched. El stood outside. She noticed what was happening. "Congratulations Max. I'm proud. Also proud that you've kept El happy over these years. Truly makes me happy". Max nodded. "I've got to quickly run out and grab something". She walked past him running out to Eleven. "What did he say?" El smirked. "Nothing. Just some stuff about how proud he is. Now shall we?" Max smirked. They kissed and ran off towards the trailer.

"I need water". Max got up with a black bra and shorts on. El lay down in a small shirt. "I bet you do". El laughed. "I do love Microbes". Max shouted sarcastically. She fixed up some Eggos and cookies and walked back to her girlfriend. El sat up. "Lucky me. Such a gentleman". El giggled. "Of course. I wear the pants". She took a sip of water. "I mean you are the" Max choked on water and stopped El. "Yeah I know. No need to shame me". They kissed each other. Max opened her mouth slightly letting El slip her tongue in. They pulled away. "Way better than some graduation party". Max laughed.

Max sat up slightly more and pulled a notebook out from a draw. El noticed whilst eating. "What are you doing?" El smiled. "I've gotta send the things that make me happiest in life. And essay. I can't seem to write about us. I can't say my best friend. Roommate is much worse. I can't say girlfriend". El leaned on Max's shoulder. "How about just putting my best friend. Jane though". El laughed. "I think your name is cute". Eleven scoffed. "I guess so". Max laughed. "I'm serious it's adorable". El smirked. "Ok Maxine". The pair began laughing and fighting. "God you are a weirdo". Max said. "A cute weirdo". El replied. "You have gotten so confident in yourself". The pair laughed. "Are we going to be together during College?" El asked. "I mean I'm going to the University of Arizona". El added on. "I've got two accepted Colleges. I think I'll go Florida. So if you are willing to do long distance. I'm in always". El stared. "Ok". Max looked happy. "Let's do long distance. But for now let's just keep as close as possible". El smirked and kissed Max's neck.

The pair spent all of the remaining days cuddling and going on secret dates. After much convincing and promises over the years they even went on a double date. Dustin was happy about that. El knew that she didn't want to leave Max for a 3rd time. But thankfully they both grew wiser. Max understood the circumstances. She knew she had to watch her leave for Arizona. El packed boxes of clothes and suitcases. Max gave her shirts and scrunchies. She had a very important gift she was saving. Max packed her things as well. And soon enough the room they stayed in on so many nights was almost empty. The notes had been taken off the wall. Apart from 2. El had wrote, 'I Love Max :)' and the other was, 'She really did fall for me' which Max wrote. Then came the last day for El. Everyone was waving her goodbye and hugging her. Max plucked up the courage to give her the gift. "It's the skateboard from uh". Eleven beamed. "The night a couple of years ago. The day I found out you liked me. Oh my god Max I love you". They hugged. "You can like put it on a shelf or something". The pair held each other. "I'll call you". El smiled. "Damn right you will". Max laughed. "I love you so much Max". The pair smiled. "I love you too El". They let go of each other. El got in her car with Hopper. Max smiled. She waved. "When I see you Eleven". She waved her until she disappeared over the horizon. They would never truly be apart. No matter what.
