Y/n's pov

"What" the one with the backwards cap said.
"what. Is. That. Supposed. To. Mean." I say walking up to the sandlot with Finney following behind

"Uh-" he stutters, "what. Never talked to a girl" I say as they all looked shocked "i- uh... Girlscantplayball" he says super fast. Everyone looked at him confused, but I understood him.

"I'm a girl. I play ball" I say "You can't even throw a ball straight" he snaps back. Finney smirks knowing I can make this kid go home crying.

"I can play better then you. I can play better then all of you" I say pointing from one team to another, I'm guessing the ones with jackets are on a different team

"Sure, you can't even hold a bat" he says as everyone laughs except for the tall one with a cap and the other team. "Ham that's enough, let's see what she's got before you start talking again." The tall kid with a cap said

I turn to Finn as he's already looking at me "I'm gonna make this kid apologize to me" I say as Finn laughs and hands me his bat.

I walk inside the sandlot and Finn follows "Who's pitching" I say wondering which kid it's gonna be. "I am." The kid I assume Ham's his name? Dumb name. "K" I mumble

I end up hitting the ball every time. (Obviously🙄) "who's your best player?" I ask.

Everyone turns to the tall kid "okay" all I say. They laugh "what" I say annoyed "he'll crush you like a can" a short kid with glasses says. "Yeah yeah" another kid says and laughs

We get in place, I hear some people chuckle "she gonna go home crying" I hear someone whisper "shut up" I say even more annoyed

"Ooh she's tuff, I like her" I hear a kid from the other team say.
Finney glares at him

The boy throws the ball. It's coming. I swing... I hit it. I hear whispering from the other team
"Hey beautiful what's ur name?" One of them says "shut up ass face" I say. I hear a bunch of  "oooh" "Philips just got rejected" a kid laughs

After hitting the ball most of the time I look at Finn seeing him half a sleep " I win." I say turning to Ham "now apologize to me and say girls can play ball." I say walking up to him

Finney's now looking at me.
"What" Ham says "you heard me."I say "fine. I'm sorry for the things I said to you and girls can play" he says sighing. "Good." I start walking to Finn

"Hey beautiful can you at least give me a chance"a kid says. I'm guessing his name's Philips "I have a boyfriend" I say looking at Finn, he's glaring at Philips

I kiss Finn on the lips and grab his hand starting to walk a way from the disaster.

"Can we go to my house, I'm tired and my dad's not home" Finney says rubbing his eyes

"Yeah"
