Finney Pov
I was walking over to the side of the wall back to the hole I dug dropping myself down in there digging up a bit more before walking back over to the bed staring at the door waiting for him. the lights flickered on as I pushed myself back laying on the bed acting like I was asleep. the door open I twitched a bit trying to keep myself calm."I know you're not sleeping" the grabber said in a singsong like voice. I opened one of my eyes looking directly at him pushing myself back up noticing he didn't step out to the light like usually.
"I'm starving"
"Tell me your name"
"Why do you care?"
"I usually don't. I find out eventually in the paper they always print a nice, big photo with all the details I could ever want all the things you boys lie about"
"what's different this time?"
"Oh..." a dog started barking upstairs while I heard the same female voice telling him to hush it. the man looked up sighing a bit "Oh, It's complicated. It's...too complicated everything different nothing's going right"
"You could let me go"
"I'm thinking about it"
"I promise I won't tell anyone, you can blindfold me, drop me off on the street I'll walk home"
"Well, tell me your name"
"Taylor...Taylor Mullen" I stutter. the man sighed before throwing the tray down stepping into the light with this time a frown face. he reaches under his arm showing me a magazine throwing it to my feet. I drop down grabbing the newspaper unraveling it.
"I was really starting to like you Finney" he snarled kicking the tray away "I almost let you go"
he shut the door leaving it unlocked again I let out a tremble breath staring at the newspaper throwing it away marching up to the door about to grab it just as the phone rang again.
"Hello" I said picking up the phone looking around "Bruce? Billy-Paperboy"
the phone clicks as the static drop. I sat the phone back down walking over to the tray picking up any of the scramble eggs left off the floor back to the plate. I tried getting some sleeps. drip. drip. I lifted my head looking around the room. drip. drip. I pulled my rocket flashlight out my pocket clicking the button shinning it around the room before stopping at a boy arching back with blood running down his arm to his hand. drip. drip. drip. the boy raised one of his fingers pointing back to the phone. I got up still staring at the boy before picking up the phone.
"Hello?" I ask shinning my flashlight back to find the boy was gone. "Hello?"
"You don't have much time. the grabber hasn't been sleeping he thinks this might be it that there gonna figure it out"
"who's going to figure it out?"
"His brother and daughter upstairs" the boy said laughing a little bit on the other end
"Are you Griffin?" I ask walking over to the corner
"Who?"
"Griffin Stagg"
"Probably It's all a little hazy, but I imagine you know all our names"
"Every kid does" I said pacing back and forth between the corner and phone "I didn't know you"
"Nobody did. you spend so many years invisible, and then every kid in the state knows your name. you don't have much time"
"Why hasn't he killed me?"
"You won't play the game you have to play the game if you don't play, he can't win"
"What game?"
"Naught boy if you don't play naughty boy the grabber can't beat you and if he can't beat you, he can't move on to the next part and the next part of naughty boy is his favorite part"
"what's the next part? "I ask hearing more laughter
"You don't have much time" Griffin said sternly
"You said that"
"he's not been sleeping"
"You said that too"
"Yeah, well, he is now in his chair. he passed out waiting for you to play"
"What good does that do me?" I lifted up my flashing pointing it back to the door still seeing it was unlocked "wait the door is still unlocked"
"The door is still unlocked"
"Do I just go?" I ask stumbling over my words watching the door.
"There a combination lock on the inside of the storm door it was my bike lock"
"Your bike lock?"
"Yeah, he took it when he took me"
"what's the combination?"
"I don't remember"
"Griffin" I said annoyed feeling slightly helpless wondering if this call would actually do me any good.
"I remember being afraid I'd forgot it that why I wrote it down"
"What where?"
"I carved it with a bottle cap in the wall"
"Which wall? which wall?" I ask scanning my eyes around the room desperately trying to figure out where it could be
"The one on the right about shoulder height when you're sitting down" he said annoyed along his voice. I threw the phone on the bed crouching down by the wall where he said it was at using my flashlight scanning the wall up and down before seeing a number.
"2-3-3-1-7" I whisper repeatedly copying it down in my head turning back to the bed picking the phone up. "2-3-3-1-7?"
"If you say so"
"But is it 23-31-7 or 23-3-17 or 2-33-17"
"I can't remember"
"Griffin"
"I can't remember" He argued back at me whining a little bit "you'll have to try them all and you'll have to be very quiet about it"
"Yeah, okay thanks" I said hanging the phone up walking to the door repeating the numbers again in my head while sliding the door open sneaking up.
(Y/n) Pov
I was still wide awake having a gut feeling in my stomach that something wasn't right. I poke my head out the doorway hoping nobody would be there just to see my dad sitting in a chair a belt in his hand wearing some devil mask. holy shit...he's the grabber. I ran back to my room locking the door falling to my feet trying to catch a breath. he killed them. he killed Robin and he probably killed Finney. then I heard a creak by the front door.... Finney.
