Who is InuYasha?

Chapter 3: who is InuYasha?

     We got out the well and looked around. The ground was covered in green. There were trees everywhere. Butterflies and birds were flying around while Kagome and I exchanged glances.

   "Yup, definitely not in Tokyo anymore." Said Kagome.

   "Well if we aren't it Tokyo, where are we?" I asked looking around while staying close to the well. While Kagome called for Grandpa, Sota, and "Mom". 

     Should I just call her mother "Mom" now? Would that be ok? I mean, I'm already considering Kagome as my sister. But should I call Sota "brother", call her Grandpa "grandpa"? I guess I will... yeah, I'm going to do that.

     I turned back to Kagome who had started walking away. I put my bow on my back and put the arrow back into it's holder. Kagome kept walking forward towards a large tree while I began to pat my body, feeling a small knife strapped to my wrist positioned  where I could flick my wrist to shoot out the blade. Thank god I learned weapons and self-defense after the incident, or else I would have hurt myself trying to use it. Apparently I'm also a fighter in this anime.

   "Is that the Sacred tree?" Ask Kagome, "it's like the whole shrine is gone!"

   "If the shrine is gone, then how is the tree there?" I replied, walking till we reached the tree.

     Once we got there, we gasped. A boy was stuck on the tree by an arrow. He was wearing a red kimono. The boy had long white hair with... are those dog ears?! Whoa. 

   "Who is that?" I asked, "Is he asleep?"

   "Hey there, what cha doing?" Asked Kagome as I helped her up the branches, "Why do you have an arrow in you heart? What are you doing Sakura?"

    "I want to know if those ears are real." I said stubbornly, pulling and rubbing his ears, "Huh, they ARE real." 

     Kagome sighed and facepalmedbefore shrieking and ducking.

   "Get away from there!" We heard a man yell shooting arrows at us.

     I quickly pulled out my own bow and aimed it. Jumping down and standing protectively in front of the tree, the boy, and Kagome I glared at the man. 

   "Stay back" I growled. No not literally.

     Next thing I knew, Kagome and I were tied up and on a mat. I glared at them and a few backed up with fear. Nobody messes with me... they especially don't mess with the ones I care about. Wow, looks like I have accepted Kagome as family already.

   "You didn't have to tie is up, ya know." said Kagome.

   "Wow. Look at them. They have different clothes, are the foreigners? Hmmmmm... they could be kitsunes in disguise. Nah, those foxes are a lot trickier than that. Make way for high priestess Kaede!" The crowd mumbled about us.

     An old woman walked in our way and started throwing salt on us. She has a loose looking white shirt with red pants and sandals. Her grey hair was pulled back and she had an eye-patch over her right eye. The woman also had a bow and a set of arrows. She was saying stuff about demons.

   "Hey I'm not a demon!" I said angrily

   "And she isn't either!" I added as she threw salt at Kagome

   "Are ye not? Then why were ye found in the forest of InuYasha?" She asked.

   "Forest of who?" 

   "The forest of InuYasha." She repeated with a sigh.

   "She could be a spy from another village! See her bow?" Said a man

   "If that were so, why would she bring this other girl without a bow? Besides, they would be fools to spy on our poor village. We have nothing of value. The Sacred Jewel was burned with Kikyo's body." Replied the priestess. Kaede I believe she was called.

     Kaede looked at Kagome and gave a small gasp. She walked over to us and turned our heads. 

   "Let me get a good look at ye." She said, "It's there, yet I know not why."

       ~time skip to Kaede's hut~

   "Stew?" Asked Kaede

   "Wow, that looks good." Said Kagome

   "It is good!" I said, digging in and eating quickly

   "What? I'm hungry! I skipped breakfast" I said while Kagome sighed. Well I did skip breakfast!

   Geez Sakura, you just had to start eating like an animal. Came Miko's voice.

   Well, I didn't have enough time to grab breakfast! Anyway, what's up? Anything big about to happen? Who is the boy in the tree? I replied 

   Can't tell you that squirt! But the boy in the tree is a half-breed demon. He is a dog demon. The boy's name is InuYasha. When you see him on the tree, make sure YOU pull out the arrow! Oh and squirt, if you start seeing glowing jewels or shoot anything pink out of your hands, then  you have half of the sacred Shikon Jewel in you. If it ever comes out of you and Kagome, put the two pieces together, ok? Came Usui's voice. He ALWAYS calls me 'squirt'

   Ok, ok! I'm putting my guard up now. Hey, what time is it over there? I asked

   Ummm, 10:40pm. Answered Alex

   Go to bed. I'll be fine for a while, ok? I said

     I turned back to Kagome and Kaede who had been talking about the village. Kaede asked what Tokyo was and Kagome replied that it was where she was from.

     We turned to Kaede who was staring at us and seemed to be going through a flashback and poking the fire.

     All of the sudden we heard several crashes, and screams. We ran outside to see the centipede thingy had returned. 

   "What is that thing?!" Yelled Kagome, "Why is it after us?" 

"Give me the Sacred Jewel!" The thing cried after dropping a horse. 

     It flew at us as I pulled out an arrow and shot off another one of its arms. The Centipede Lady (I'm pretty sure it's female) turned to a whirlwind and crushed all of the huts. She was after Kagome and I! I just know it. 

   "Kagome, we have to draw it away from the village! I'll shoot at her to grab her attention. Once she looks our way, run to the forest of InuYasha with me! We will take it to the well!" I called to Kagome. I then shot at the Centipede to grab her attention.

   "Right, where is the forest?"

   "Over where that light is shining... right Kaede? Over there." I answered 

     Kaede gave a brief nod with a confused look on her face as Kagome and I sprinted towards the strange light. I had an arrow ready to shoot just in case it came to close. As we were running I her Kagome begging to be saved. 

     Suddenly, I felt a pulse. I felt an aura... slightly demonic. I knew InuYasha had woke up. I started to run even faster. At one point I threw Kagome on my back to protect her from the fall as the centipede dove at our feet. I landed ON InuYasha, while Kagome landed at my feet. I turned around and jumped off him to land on a branch.

   "Hello Kikyo, fighting demons with our bow, huh? Looks like your hair is longer too." Said InuYasha.

   "So you're alive?" Asked Kagome

   "I wasn't talking to you... Kikyo? But I thought she was Kikyo. Well what don't you do her like you do me?" Said InuYasha... that cocky little...

   "That's it" I said turning around and glaring, "Kikyo, Kikyo, Kikyo, whoever this is it isn't us! Our names are Sakura and Kagome!" 

   "She's here." Said Inuyasha
