Blue Is the Warmest Colour

Adèle's life is changed when she meets Emma, a young woman with blue hair, who will allow her to discover desire and to assert herself as a woman and as an adult. In front of others, Adèle grows, seeks herself, loses herself, and ultimately finds herself through love and loss. (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: I honestly don't remember the full story because it's too long (I think).. I only remember that the sex scene was.. uhmm.. pretty good! ◈◈◈◇◇

Her: My recommendation is to just watch the sex scenes. Everything else is too frustrating and depressing. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad movie, just a little too sad for my taste. ◈◈◇◇◇

The Duke of Burgundy

A woman who studies butterflies and moths tests the limits of her relationship with her lesbian lover. (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: I've watched it several times and still like it. BUT I'm kinda disappointed with the plot twist. I was hoping the older woman was actually the dom one.. well.. it's still a good movie tho.. worth a watch.. ◈◈◈◈◇

Her: I really have a strong dislike for dom/sub relationships, especially when there's also an age gap and a social imbalance. So I didn't have high expectations for this film at all and braced myself to see yet another glorification of toxic relationships. But it turned out to be an unusual, very intense and sensual movie with a beautiful vintage vibe. ◈◈◈◈◇

The Handmaiden

A woman is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her. (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: Very good movie!! Very detailed and explicit with a few plot twists but still enjoyable. Most importantly.. HAPPY ENDING!! You should definitely watch! ◈◈◈◈◇

Her: Absolutely amazing and beautiful movie. So many twists. And a happy ending that didn't make me want to throw up. MUST WATCH! Or, if you prefer reading, get a copy of Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. That's the novel the movie is based on. Side note: you should also read Tipping the Velvet by the same author. ◈◈◈◈◈

Room in Rome

A hotel room in the center of Rome serves as the setting for two young and recently acquainted women to have a physical adventure that touches their very souls. (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: Boooorriinggg!!! But if you can be satisfied with just naked bodies, you might like this movie.. too much talking.. anticlimax sex scene. And too much talking.. I know I already said it twice.. it's on purpose.. because this movie has tooo manyy talking scenes. ◈◇◇◇◇

Her: Very boring. Two mostly naked women in a hotel room talking. And talking. And talking... ◈◇◇◇◇

A Perfect Ending

Rebecca has a very unusual secret, one that not even her best friends know about. The last person on earth she expects to reveal it to is a high priced escort named Paris. (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: Age gap lesbian love story. The plot is pretty good. The sex scene was good too!! Real bodies.. I mean.. it's more realistic than those skinny, flawless body and skin Hollywood kinda body goals. Sad ending. ◈◈◈◈◇

Her: Ugh... well... the sex scene wasn't bad. Spoiler: Paris didn't have a stroke. It took me a while to figure it out, but that voice is apparently supposed to be sexy... ◈◈◇◇◇

The Hunger

A love triangle develops between a beautiful yet dangerous vampire (Catherine Deneuve), her cellist companion (David Bowie), and a gerontologist (Susan Sarandon). (Source: IMDb.com)

Me: NO WORD CAN EXPLAIN!! CATHERINE DENEUVE!!!! HOOTTT AND GORGEOUS!!! AND SUSAN.. AHH.. Always loveee this movie!! Old but gold!! GO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T. ◈◈◈◈◈

Her: Long-time favourite. Not too graphic. Very aesthetic. It has Bauhaus and Catherine Deneuve as a bisexual vampire. Need I say more? ◈◈◈◈◇
