Enchanted

A rare gem by Taylor Swift.

So I used to not like Taylor Swift much when I was younger. I couldn't really relate to her songs (still can't lol). But over time I have grown to love the more simplistic instrumentals, the charming lyrics and the country essence on most of her older songs.

Enchanted is such a dreamy, timeless song. The lyrics are simple, but still stir up imagery and nostalgia.

The instrumentals feel too mellow, and aren't really my favorite. But overall I like the song.

In case you don't know the story behind Enchanted, this was sort of Taylor's confession to Owl City/ Adam Young. Adam Young and Taylor met in real life, and afterwards, Adam said he was 'wonderstruck' to meet Taylor.

Taylor incorporated the word into the song. "I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home".

Adam Young later sent a 'reply', by recording his own cover of "Enchanted".

This version of the song is my absolute favorite.

Taylor sings with wistful nostalgia in her voice, but Adam sounds purely like a boy in love. His instrumentals have this fantasy aesthetic to it, which I'm a sucker for.

My favorite lyrics are "Two am, who do you love? I wonder till I'm wide awake."

and "Please don't be in love with someone else. Please don't have someone waiting on you."

Taylor illustrates the feelings someone has when they're in love/ when they crush on a person so accurately. There's so much heart to this song. I think lyrically it is one of Taylor's best songs.

Here is a piano version. It is DREAMY.

And here is an ethereal version of the song. Sounds like the music that plays when two characters confess their undying love for each other or something, doesn't it?
