For ages you've been dreaming of being in a relationship. You've been dreaming of someone special, of someone who would love you as much as you love hockey. So far, you've been on a few dates, but no one of them ended well. As it became obvious after few minutes with them, they were all complete jerks, who made fun of you for dedication to hockey.

You were home alone, watching your favorite movie and eating ice cream, when your phone rang. Not expecting anyone's call, you slowly stretched your arm and checked the screen. It was your best friend, Taylor Hall of Edmonton Oilers.
"Hey, Tay. What's up?"
"Hey, Y/N. Nothing. I was just wondering how your date had gone?"
"Ugh, can we not?"
"That bad? Listen, I feel sorry for you, I mean, you are such a gorgeous girl and everything and you are still alone."
"Firstly, thanks for compliment. And secondly, what are you trying to do?"
"Listen, uh, I would like to introduce you to one of my team mates."
"Taylor..."
"Just introduce you to him, nothing else. Please, Y/N, I think you'd be great together?"
"Okay, okay, " you sighed, but a small smile was drew on your cheeks.
"So, come with me tomorrow. Will you?"
"Okay, I will. And, Tay..."
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
His chuckle was the last thing you had heard before you cut the call. Expectation and fear of what was on Taylor's mind filled your heart and somehow you couldn't wait for a next day to come.

Next day you woke up earlier than usual and your nerves were a wreck. Time seemed it forgot how to go by and it seemed like eternity when Taylor finally knocked on your door. Before you had a chance to open it, your mother opened it and greeted Taylor with loud welcome.
"Y/N, Taylor said you had told him to go to practice with him!"
"Yes! I'm coming!"
You ran past your mother, shouting "See you later" and jumped in Taylor's car.
"So... tell me about your team mate."
"Well... he is Russian, and funny as hell. That's all I can say, the rest of it is up to you."
"Man, you are torturing me. What if I won't like him?"
"You will. Trust me."
"What if..."
"Trust me," he laughed and sped up. Knowing him for so long, you decided to listen to him and trust him. At the end of the day, he had been your best friend for a long, long time.

After practice Taylor introduced you to one of his teammates, who you instantly got along with. You were chatting and laughing right outside the entrance for about thirty minutes, before he suddenly asked you to grab a cup of coffee with him. Seeing no reason to deny his invitation, you accepted it gladly.
"Hey, Y/N!" you heard a loud shout behind your back and you turned around. Taylor was standing there, his hands in his pockets and he looked quite upset for, to you, unknown reason.
"Yes? Uh, Nail asked me to grab a cup of coffee with him."
"I see. What about your ride home?"
"I will take her home, Tay, do not worry," said Nail and looked at you. You looked back at him and chuckled, blushing.
"Really, Tay, I will be fine, I swear," you said and stepped forward to hug him. Only that time his embrace was tighter and it felt warmer. You felt weird, you felt your heart skip a beat, which was the weirdest thing ever happened to you. His breath tickled you as he whispered in your hair: "Give me a call when you get home, okay? Nail, take care of her, will ya?"
"Of course I will. See you tomorrow, Tay."
"See you, Tay," you waved goodbye to him and followed Nail.

From the first time you stepped into warm and cozy inside of a Starbucks café Nail took you to, he was being a complete gentleman. Even though a group of fans surrounded you, he politely signed every paper they pushed him under his nose and posed for selfies, but had given them all the signs you were his priority. Being a girl, who had always been in a shadow of your peers and growing up in a shadow of your perfect brother, you felt wanted with every gesture he made. How he tucked an escaped lock of hair and how he took off his team hoodie when you were cold. How he never looked away when you were talking, and how carefully he was paying attention to every word you said. Hours passed by quickly, so you did not even realize the night had fallen.
Nail kept his promise and not only escorted you, but also walked you all the way your house. Even though the night was quite chilly, you felt warm and excited as you walked down your home street hand-in-hand with Nail Yakupov. His hand felt warm and you felt like you were melting on the inside. The chill of night, the darkness and quietness of the night and a flare of moonlight on his cheeks made the walk even more perfect. If only...
"Y/N, I had a great time and I would love to spend some more time with you."
"The same applies to me, Nail."
"So, we will be in touch?"
"Of course."
He smiled widely and pulled you into tighter embrace. Him being taller than you made you look up in his eyes. Your gaze was locked with his when he leant down and put his warm lips on yours. Hesitantly, you kissed him back. Kissing in a moonlight may sound cliché, but it was the best thing, the best way to have your first true kiss. With a small spark of sadness you remembered how your best friend looked at you when you had walked away with Nail, but truth be told, there was nothing between you two. Nothing, except pure friendship.

So I intended to do it in two parts but i got a biiiit carried away so i guess it will be a 3-part-story :P
