Flood

Not once but twice she has been cheated and thrown aside,

All because they brought her pain and lied.

She felt so stupid, useless, unable to be enough for someone,

The thing she once called her life just cut off the light of the sun.

What did she do wrong to deserve something like that?

What did she do to make him scurry away like a rat?

The news nearly destroyed her, broke her down to nothing.

The words of forgiveness didn't ease the sting.

He was a pet to the past, he wasn't contempt with what he had,

So he decided to drive himself mad.

In that moment, he leaned in to the girl he once called his own,

And his true feeling were shown.

Their lips met, killing his relationship in cold blood,

And that's when the tears began to flood.
