Sapphire Kaleb Karter "Scooby"
"Things have been kinda crazy around here," Tyra tried to explain as we walked through the hospital hallways. "'Shanti just woke up, and then Mel-," She started but stopped because we reached the room.
"This is a no-fighting zone," Tyra pointed from me to Reese. "Whatever ya'll got going on in the Gates, leave it in the Gates," Tyra narrowed her eyes at both of us as if she was our mother. I slowly walked into room, 331. I tried to ignore Reese's hard glare and turned up lip, cause he wasn't gone do sh*t no ways.
"I'll go check on 'Shanti down the hall," Tyra threw her hands up walking out. "Hey," Mel said a little over a whisper, as she fiddled with her hospital gown.
"Wassup," I nodded. "I'm surprised your here," She spoke, and Reese continued to look upside my head.
"After Spank told me-," I started but was stopped by her speaking. "Brother, can you go get me some water," She asked Reese. Reese nodded and stepped out of the room.
"You don't want your brother to know," I asked taking a seat at the footing of her bed. She looked off shaking her head no.
"I thought I fell out because I was over-doing it on the drugs and drinking," She sighed. "but really," I asked. "Im a couple of weeks pregnant," She admitted, making me bit down on my lip.
"I'm happy," She spoke. "I needed something to live for," She added. "It's just a little sad because of the circumstances, you know?" Her eyes met mine. She let out a long sigh.
"Scooby just because you're biologically the father, doesn't mean you have to be around, you don't have to-," She started but I stopped shorty right there. "I'm in," I simply said. "You know I'll be here for my baby," I added.
"You telling me this n*gga the father," Reese stormed back in, pointing his finger directly in my face. "Reese," Mel called out, holding both her hands out.
"Nah you good, let little big brother throw a temper tantrum," I shrugged. "I know you not talking about brothers," Reese spat, making me swallow hard. "And I know you didn't let this abusive a*s retard in you," Reese yelled loud enough for the whole hospital to hear.
Mel put her index finger up to her lips. "Please," She begged. "Please Reese," She repeated. "Remember when we were little and told each other every secret we had," She asked. He nodded yes.
"Just please keep this secret for me," She begged. Reese sighed and reluctantly nodded yes. "I guess he won't be around anyways," He commented.
"Lie," I spat. "Well I'll just have to make sure my gun don't jam," Reese spat. "You wouldn't do that," I said. "We family now, Reeses pieces," I teased patting him on the head.
