It was lunchtime, and Quentin was sitting with the rest of the Jade Winglet, excepting Kaida and Maya, who were at their own table, which was empty but for them.
He was thinking about calling Maya over to sit with them, as she'd been REALLY scared that morning, and Kaida surely wasn't going to be any help. However, just as Quentin was about to get up and walk over to Maya, she burst out laughing as Kaida gave her a mischievous smirk.
As out of character as it seemed, Maya Griffith had made her first (or maybe second; she'd come in with Katie to homeroom, after all) friend at Jade Mountain Academy in Kaida Cherith, of all people.
Kaida Cherith! The held-back high school senior who was rumored to have killed at least five people?! There were rumors that she'd killed her twin brother at birth, for crying out loud!
She certainly acted pretty scary. But somehow her demeanor hadn't fazed Maya in the slightest.
How interesting.
Sorry this chapters short; Qibli's honestly not that much fun to write for. Most of these chapters are gonna be from Moon or Peril's pov cuz they're my faves :)
