Prologue: Lauren

My name is Lauren Palmer. I am twenty-one years old. A few months ago I was just an average girl from Kansas. Now, I am one of Hollywood's most wanted. I'm not an actor. Nor am I a musician, or a model. I'm just a celebrity, a face, a fashion icon.
But don't you think I've never worked for it; I have. Pretty hard, at that.

It all began when a certain member of the Kardashian family-Kim-entered the shop I was working at just before I closed it for the day. I kind of just slipped into all this-but then it got really hard. People didn't think I had it in me to make it in Hollywood. They thought I was gonna be just another one of those fleeting stars. Maybe they we're right to doubt me then; I was naïve, I thought I could become famous without any effort at all. Now I know that assumption was wrong.

And then there was Willow Pape-she'd attack me at the most unfortunate times. I never really did anything to her, but no matter what I did, she'd take it as an offense.

But there were a few people, who always had my back: the Kardashians.
